About The Role
We are looking to hire for a new position of Head of Business Development , Crypto Lending
This role is for a newly formed, fully-capitalized asset manager that is planning to launch multiple credit funds on TrueFi in the near-term. The primary strategies of the asset manager are direct lending to crypto-native and crypto-adjacent borrowers as well as illiquid credit and special situations investments including deep value and distressed opportunities. It is expected to launch in 4Q22 and is now recruiting early team members.
In this high impact role, you will be responsible for originating, onboarding and maintaining relationships with potential borrowers and investors that may be suitable candidates to participate in blockchain-based institutional investments. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in institutional sales in a corporate setting, an existing robust professional network in the financial services industry, and the ability to aggressively build relationships from scratch. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and has deep financial knowledge with an emphasis on credit.
The company has managed nearly $2 billion in loan originations since inception on TrueFi with an excellent track record to date. As the company plans to aggressively expand over the next twelve months, we are seeking an exceptional candidate to lead growth forward.
What experience do you need?
- 7+ years in a business development or institutional sales role with a major financial institution; crypto experience and interest in financial technology is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in private credit with strong understanding of fundamentals of lending and finance generally
- Existing professional network of potential borrowers, lenders and other strategic relationships such as asset managers, financial service companies, family offices, institutional investors
- Ability to understand customer desires and behavior in cryptocurrency
- Strong verbal and written communications skills around technology
- Exceptional self-starter, analytical, management and organization skills
- Willingness to travel as necessary when in a safe environment
- Entrepreneurial and comfortable in unstructured, fully remote workspace
- Origination and maintenance of new borrowers to position the company as a long-term capital provider with focus on building pipeline and credit roster over time
- Origination of new investors and maintenance of existing relationships to ensure a growing capital base to build assets under management across all funds.
- Building a structured sales process to ensure a highly organized, scalable approach to growth in both capital formation and capital deployment
- Serving as a product expert for crypto and DeFi lending specifically on the TrueFi protocol.
- Understanding and articulating the challenges and requirements institutional clients may have in investing via the blockchain
