Ethereum Name Service (ENS) is a decentralized, permissionless naming system built on the Ethereum blockchain that enables human-readable names (like "myname.eth") to be linked to standard Ethereum addresses and other distributed systems.
As one of the first protocols built on Ethereum, ENS has enabled over 3 million registered .eth names, and over another 20 million ENS names from teams such as Coinbase, Uniswap, and Linea, as well as integrations with hundreds of other apps, wallets, protocols, and browsers in the crypto ecosystem.
ENS Labs has been driving the core development of the ENS protocol since 2018. We created the ENS app, open-source libraries, and core smart contracts. We are on a mission to make crypto-powered experiences as easy and accessible as browsing the web. Join us as we build the next iteration of our protocol, ENSv2, and pioneer a more decentralized, flexible, and scalable ENS for the future.
About the Role
We're seeking a Product Designer to help shape the future of Web3 user experiences at ENS. You'll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and the community to create intuitive, engaging designs that enhance how users interact with ENS and blockchain apps.
Your work will directly impact the way users manage decentralized identities, own their names, and navigate the Web3 space. If you're passionate about Web3 and want to help build the decentralized internet, we’d love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define, ideate, and develop innovative design solutions that drive product vision, aesthetics, and user experience.
Lead the visual design process from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring designs align with both user needs and technical requirements.
Generate creative, user-centered design concepts that simplify complex problems and enhance user engagement.
Design wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and sitemaps to clearly communicate design concepts and user journeys.
Present and advocate for design ideas and key deliverables to peers, stakeholders, and leadership, ensuring alignment and buy-in.
Establish and maintain design guidelines, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and excellence across all design outputs.
Research industry trends and competitors, consistently applying and evangelizing best practices for design.
Who You Are
3+ years of experience in product design, UI / UX, or a similar role
Proficient in UI design tools and wireframing software
A compelling design portfolio that highlights a user-centered design approach
In-depth knowledge of design principles and industry best practices
Strong ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Solid understanding of blockchain technology and its design applications
Deep familiarity with the blockchain space, combined with a personal interest in Web3 as a user.
It’s a Plus, if you Have
Familiarity with design systems, atomic design principles, and front-end development processes.
Knowledge of Ethereum, ENS, NFTs, decentralized identity, and other blockchain technologies.
Active participation in Web3 or Ethereum communities, or contributions to open-source projects.
Experience with animation or motion design in UI/UX contexts.
Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices.
ENS Labs is an equal-opportunity employer and embraces diversity. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment.
What does a web3 designer do?
A web3 designer is responsible for creating user-friendly and visually appealing designs for websites that are built on the web3 platform
This platform is based on blockchain technology and allows for the creation of decentralized applications (dApps) that can be accessed through a web browser
A web3 designer would be responsible for creating the user interface and user experience for these dApps, ensuring that they are easy to use and navigate
They would also be responsible for ensuring that the overall design of the dApps is consistent with the brand and aesthetic of the organization or individual that is building the dApps.
