Want to build the future of the cloud?

Overclock Labs is the creator of Akash Network -  the world's first open-source and decentralized marketplace for cloud compute, enabling anyone to become a cloud provider by offering unused compute on an open marketplace. As more of the internet moves to the cloud, we are materializing the vision of the first decentralized cloud in an industry projected to reach $2.4 trillion in total market capitalization by 2030. Our team includes renowned open-source and blockchain developers, and seasoned experts from leading technology and platform companies. We are a remote-first, distributed, and growing team — offering unparalleled opportunities for career growth at the emerging intersection between crypto, AI, and permissionless compute.

The Role:

As a Sr. Product Designer at Overclock Labs, you will work closely with the product and engineering teams to design the user experience and interfaces that will be used by our customers and partners. This includes, working on UX and design for Akash Deployment Console (UI), Provider Console (UI) and Command-Line-Interface design (CLI) as well as contributing to design of some web and documentation assets that connect to the products - like the GPU pricing page, the stats page, API pages and more (that we haven’t even conceived of yet!). While we are 100% remote, the preference is for this person to be located in North America or being willing to work North American times, since that is where our product and engineering teams currently reside.

Our Stack:

Designs are currently done primarily in Figma, and Tailwinds is used for UI components

Golang, JavaScript,  Kubernetes & Docker are other key technologies used. Check out the Akash Network  open source code base at: https://github.com/akash-network

Job Requirements:

    • 8+ years of product design work experience
    • 5+ years of product design experience with B2B SaaS products that are of deeply technical nature
    • Expert level knowledge of common design patterns, tools and frameworks
    • Expert level knowledge of common UX research patterns and techniques
    • Intermediate understanding of user personas within cloud practitioner, web developer and DevOps engineers
    • Intermediate understanding of Product-Led-Growth (PLG) strategies as they relate to product design
    • Experience using Github
    • Working understanding of cloud services like AWS, GCP and Azure
    • Working understanding of the differences between IaaS and PaaS services as well general workflows of each
    • Familiarity with  CI/ CD workflows, monitoring and observability
    • Willingness to work “in the open” (Akash Network is “radically open source”)
    • Ability and willingness to play around with  new developer tools as a way of building knowledge and inspiration for designs

Nice to Have:

    • Current or recent experience as a designer at a cloud infrastructure, cloud services or PaaS company
    • High level understanding  of how web services and applications work
    • Familiarity with microservices and container based applications.

What does a web3 designer do?

A web3 designer is responsible for creating user-friendly and visually appealing designs for websites that are built on the web3 platform

This platform is based on blockchain technology and allows for the creation of decentralized applications (dApps) that can be accessed through a web browser

A web3 designer would be responsible for creating the user interface and user experience for these dApps, ensuring that they are easy to use and navigate

They would also be responsible for ensuring that the overall design of the dApps is consistent with the brand and aesthetic of the organization or individual that is building the dApps.
