Developer Relations Engineer

The Role

As the Developer Relations Engineer at Horizen Labs, your mission is to build a thriving developer ecosystem around zkVerify and Horizen. You’ll lead the creation and maintenance of comprehensive, high-quality documentation and educational resources to empower developers and drive engagement of zkVerify and Horizen. This is a role that requires the ability to act in a leadership fashion, coming up with ideas and taking action to accomplish the goals of the projects, working with others at Horizen Labs, partners organizations, and community developers to build a beautiful system that works well.

In this role, you’ll develop technical documentation, tutorials, guides and code samples, ensuring developers have everything they need to integrate and utilize zkVerify and Horizen.You’ll also provide hands-on mentorship, helping developers overcome challenges and maximize the potential of the ZK Stack. Additionally, you’ll serve as a key face of zkVerify and Horizen within our ecosystem, engaging across platforms like Twitter, Discord, conferences, and meetups to foster a vibrant and collaborative community.

You will drive the growth and engagement of our developer ecosystem, advocate for the needs of developers internally, and ensure that our tools, resources, and documentation meet the highest standards. Your goal will be to foster a vibrant, active, and enthusiastic community of developers who are excited about building on Horizen Labs blockchain products.

What you’ll own

Community Building and Engagement:

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow and engage the Horizen Labs developercommunity.
  • Organize and participate in community events, hackathons, webinars, and meetups to promote Horizen Labs.
  • Build strong relationships with developers, partners, and key stakeholders in the blockchain ecosystem.

Advocacy and Support:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for developers, providing support and guidance to help them succeed with Horizen Labs.
  • Advocate for developers’ needs and feedback within the company to influence product development and improvements.

Content Creation and Communication:

  • Produce high-quality content, including blog posts, technical articles, and videotutorials to educate and inspire developers.
  • Manage and contribute to Horizen Labs’s social media channels, forums, and other communication platforms.
  • Deliver presentations and talks at industry conferences and events to showcase Horizen Labs’s capabilities and success stories.

Collaboration and Partnerships:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Engineering, Marketing, and Product, toalign developer relations efforts with company goals.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with other organizations, platforms, and communities to expand Horizen Labs’s reach and impact.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze key metrics related to developer engagement, community growth,and support effectiveness.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to the leadership team on the status and progress of developer relations initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in developer relations, technical evangelism, or a related role within the blockchain or technology industry.
  • Strong knowledge of blockchain technology, including NFTs and smart contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complextechnical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record of building and nurturing developer communities, with a deep understanding of community dynamics and engagement strategies.
  • Genuine passion for blockchain technology, Web3, and the decentralized future.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, including internationally, to attend industry events, conferences, and community meetups.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate interactions with global community members and attend virtual or in-person events in different time zones.
