# Who we are
UnitedMasters is building a marketplace that connects artists, brands and fans - empowering artists to earn and grow. UnitedMasters has taken the bold step of building a music distribution service that, radically, puts artists first - disrupting the legacy music business by letting up-and-coming artists distribute their music directly to fans through streaming services while maintaining ownership of their master recording rights and up to 100% of royalties. Through the combination of UnitedMastersâ music distribution platform and its deep ties to brands, UnitedMasters enables independent artists and changemakers to grow and earn unlike any other platform.
The UnitedMasters team is made up of musicians, marketers, engineers, and storytellers with backgrounds from YouTube, SoundCloud, Pandora, Facebook, Uber, Dropbox, Complex, VICE, and more. We work hand in hand with the award-winning creative teams that forge those innovative partnerships at Translation (our in-house creative advertising agency).
# What's the role
UnitedMasters is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join our team focused Web3 efforts. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Product Management, you will be responsible for developing prototyping and launching products that leverage web3 technologies to disrupt the music industry and help independent artists earn in new ways. You will be part of a cross-functional team of engineers, analysts, community managers and operators.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with a cross-functional team to understand how emerging technologies and marketplaces can serve the needs of independent artists and creators.
- Leverage your full-stack development skills to develop and test prototypes with small groups of artists on the UnitedMasters platform.
- Turn successful prototypes into scalable and reliable software systems that service UnitedMasters users and the broader music ecosystem.
- Research emerging technologies in the web3 space and act as a representative of UnitedMasters in the web3 community.
# Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years experience building scalable consumer applications. Experience building blockchain and web3 products desired but not required (strong interest is a must).
- Hands on experience with modern frontend and backend technologies and frameworks (React, Python, Django, Flask, AWS, etc)
- Demonstrated experience building software products from scratch. Youâve built UIs, APIs, set up databases, and implemented deployment frameworks.
- Strong product mindset and can build iteratively with minimal written requirements. You can put yourself in the userâs shoes, crafting experiences that are fun and easy to use.
About UnitedMasters
What does a full stack developer in web3 do?
A full stack web3 developer is a developer who has expertise in the full stack of technologies that are used to build web3 applications
These applications use the decentralized, distributed nature of the web3 network to provide users with a secure and decentralized way of accessing and interacting with online services and applications. The responsibilities of a full stack web3 developer will vary depending on the specific project and the needs of the team they are working with
In general, though, a full stack web3 developer will be responsible for: designing and building the front-end and back-end of web3 applications, as well as implementing and maintaining the underlying blockchain infrastructure
This will often involve working with a variety of different technologies and programming languages, such as Solidity for smart contract development, JavaScript and HTML for front-end development, and various blockchain protocols and frameworks. Additionally, a full stack web3 developer may also be responsible for working with the web3 community to help drive adoption and integration of web3 technologies, as well as staying up-to-date on the latest developments in the field and contributing to the broader web3 ecosystem.
