Want to help build infrastructure for the Internet capital markets? Triton One operates the largest Solana RPC deployment, providing 24/7 operational coverage. We're a fully remote team working across the globe, and we're looking for an experienced software engineer to help us build the low-latency, distributed systems that form the critical infrastructure powering Solana.

About Us:

We specialise in high-end infrastructure services for blockchain ecosystems, including Solana, PythNet, Wormhole, Sui, Eclipse and Monad.

In the past year, we have (among many other things):

  • Created and open-sourced key pieces of Solana infrastructure as part of our Yellowstone project:
    • Dragon’s Mouth gRPC for streaming services provides a standardised way to access Solana’s geyser interface
    • Old Faithful, the first full history archive of Solana

  • Built high-performance indexing on Solana in the form of Steamboat for program queries
  • Worked together with other ecosystem actors to make the Digital Asset API a production-ready service

In the coming year, we look forward to further developing the Solana RPC stack and building better services for other chains. We’re crypto natives who provide bespoke infrastructure for DeFi and NFT applications. Join us and help build Web 3.0!

The Role:

We’re looking for an experienced software engineer to support our Old Faithful project.

Old Faithful is storing the entire Solana ledger in IPLD format content addressable archives, with the goal of replacing BigTable as the canonical source of Solana history.

We use Clickhouse and custom Golang/Rust services to manage and maintain nearly 500 TB of Solana history, providing lightening-fast access via both standard JSON-RPC and gRPC interfaces.

When you join our team, you’ll help maintain the critical infrastructure and services around Old Faithful that enable Triton to massively increase the bandwidth of Solana, while reducing the latency required to interrogate the ledger from genesis to tip.

Although the current scope of this contract is 3-6 months, there’s a lot of room to extend if you’re excited about the project and get stuck into the daily challenges and opportunities that come with building on Solana!

Requirements:

  • Experience managing ETLs for large datasets (we’re talking hundreds of terabytes here)
  • Advanced Clickhouse / Postgres / BigTable experience (preferably all of the above, but if you have extensive experience in even one, we want to hear from you)
  • 5+ years of experience working with Linux-based systems and containers. You don’t need to be DevOps, but it wouldn’t hurt if you sounded like one
  • Extensive experience writing in Rust or Golang
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — we speak several languages, but work mostly in English

Preferred skills:

  • Prior experience with Solana or other blockchain infrastructure

Don’t meet all the “preferred” criteria? Don’t let that stop you! Let us know if your application where you’d still need to get up to speed – the most important thing to us is that you love taking on big challenges, and learning new skills while solving problems.

Compensation:

We offer competitive compensation based on experience. Payment can be made in several crypto or fiat currencies.

Our interview process:

Our team works hard to build a high-trust, high-transparency environment. You’ll be working directly with team members across all areas of the business and you’ll be driving your own projects, so it’s important that you’re comfortable taking ownership of your work and outcomes.

For that reason, a successful interview process looks like:

  1. A brief screening call with our Business Manager
  2. A technical interview with a member of your future team
    1. You should be comfortable discussing technical challenges during this process

Excited? We can’t wait to meet you!
