R3’s Professional Services is comprised of innovative problem-solvers and strategic, fast-moving engineers and consultants who collaborate with customers to solve their challenges and build business solutions. As part of the post-sales organisation, Professional Services is responsible for driving successful customer outcomes through supporting the design, build and deployment of solutions. This team provides you with the opportunity to solve real-world business and technical challenges with large global corporates, banks and start-ups across many industries – Financial Services, Real Estate, Energy, Digital Assets, Identity and Healthcare.

You’re a highly motivated software engineer embarking on a career after completing your university degree.

You have gained knowledge on software development/design/architecture practices through your academics and work experience, and you’re excited to learn more and develop in this space. You have a firm grasp of Computer Science fundamentals.
Our software development is based on JVM languages, more specifically Java and Kotlin, but while advantageous, expertise in these languages is not an essential requirement. The important thing is that you have software development expertise in some modern high-level language and are willing to learn what is required for the role.

We believe that customer experience, quality, security, developer experience, and operational experience are everyone’s responsibility, so you’ll be driven by a passion for ensuring excellence in all of these.

Responsibilities:

    • Help create educational articles, videos, demo apps, presentations, and other learning materials
    • Become an expert resource for our developer community by staying up-to-date on our platform's capabilities and the surrounding technical landscape
    • Create engaging content to educate our users on Corda (documentation, blog posts, tutorials, demos, coding challenges, support articles, YouTube videos, feedback surveys, and more)
    • Help educate our enterprise developers by delivering technical training on Corda and creating technical training content for the Professional service team

Skills & Experience:

    • Good Communication skills and a passion for technology and problem-solving
    • A degree in computer science or a strong interest in programming

At R3, we encourage a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you don’t meet all of the above criteria, but you think you’d be a great addition to R3, send us your CV. We’re always interested in meeting collaborative people who are excited to work with us.

Please note that this role is based in Abu Dhabi, in order to apply for the role you will need to be a UAE national.

Is Kotlin a good career?

Yes, Kotlin is a good career choice for developers who want to work in the Android app development, backend development, or cross-platform development space

Kotlin is a modern programming language that was designed to improve upon some of the shortcomings of Java, making it more concise, safe, and interoperable with other languages

Here are some reasons why Kotlin is a good career choice:

  1. High Demand: Kotlin is in high demand in the technology industry, especially in the Android app development space. Many companies are now using Kotlin to develop their Android apps, and the demand for Kotlin developers is growing rapidly.
  2. Compatibility: Kotlin is interoperable with Java, which means that developers can use both languages in the same project. This makes it easy for developers to migrate from Java to Kotlin and vice versa, and it also makes it easier to integrate Kotlin into existing Java-based projects.
  3. Easy to Learn: Kotlin is relatively easy to learn for developers who are already familiar with Java or other similar programming languages. Kotlin has a simpler syntax than Java, making it easier to read and write code.
  4. Concise and Safe: Kotlin is a more concise language than Java, which means that developers can write less code to achieve the same functionality. Additionally, Kotlin has built-in null safety features that help developers avoid common errors and bugs.
  5. Career Growth: Kotlin is a relatively new language, which means that there is a lot of room for growth and innovation. Developers who are proficient in Kotlin have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the language and its ecosystem, which can lead to career growth and advancement.
