About the team:

We're agile, use scrum, continuous integration and continuous delivery, deploying to production every single day.

Our engineering team is split into organisations which we call Fleets. Fleets focus on a core customer journey (onboarding, security, payments, support, new business, growth and marketing etc.) Fleets contain smaller teams called Pods, each Pod owns a specific aspect of the customer journey. Pods are formed of cross functional highly skilled team members from Product, Delivery and Engineering.

As a Principal Staff Engineer you will be a key team member of the fleet. You will be part of an inspiring team of thought leaders, working with the fleet engineering managers and director, recommending continual improvement and building the technology roadmap.

Your mission will be:

• Build distributed microservices that are accessed by over 8 million 10 million customers from nearly 50 countries.
• Design, build and maintain advanced applications services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Write testable, maintainable code for robustness and reliability.
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
• Write code that directly affects users, the company and the Bitcoin ecosystem.

A little about you:

• Extensive programming experience working with Go.
• Previous technical lead experience, mentor and coach engineers
• Expert understanding of distributed scalable and reliable systems
• Able to contribute to multiple streams of development work
• Reduces complexity, refactors and simplifies code and systems
• Introduces processes to improve quality and efficiency
• To be friendly, transparent, articulate and driven to succeed
