About the role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to facilitate our growth through technical vision and expertise, team mentorship, and team expansion. You will work with leadership to develop roadmaps and set OKRs for product delivery. You will work closely with cross-functional teams of product managers, project managers, designers, and QA to build the next generation of blockchain products.
What you'll be doing
- Expand a team of software engineers from sourcing to hiring
- Iterate and manage team structure, charter, and vision.
- Establish and advocate for engineering best practices.
- Develop and decide team OKRs and determine how it relates to company goals.
- Iterate on internal team processes like onboarding and pairing to help your team succeed.
- Coach and mentor the engineers to help them grow both personally and in their careers.
- Build relationships and work closely with product managers, project managers, designers, and QA to ensure high-quality product delivery.
- Promote an inclusive team culture of engineers from diverse backgrounds.
- Occasionally jump into the code to assist your team.
Requirements
- 2+ years of engineering management experience on frontend or backend systems.
- 4+ years of software engineering experience on production systems.
- Experience with hiring, onboarding, and coaching new engineers.
- Experience with managing mid to staff-level engineers.
- Able to navigate change and lead teams through new projects and changing business goals.
- Ability to communicate deep technical concepts to non-technical team members and stakeholders.
- Experience managing a team responsible for production systems at scale.
- Experience developing roadmaps and OKRs for your team.
Bonuses
- Experience working on or managing a team delivering blockchain products.
- Hands-on experience with Go or Typescript/JS/React.
- Hands-on experience with GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, Postgres, or Kafka.
