After raising a $19 million seed round backed by Dragonfly Capital, Placeholder Capital, Naval Ravikant, and other leaders in the crypto space, we are hiring an exceptional Counsel who wants to work on challenging and impactful problems in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, Monad Labs is seeking an experienced Counsel to play a pivotal role with navigating the complex legal terrain of the cryptocurrency world.

What you will be doing

• Identify business and legal risks and issues that allow the business of the company to move forward in compliance with domestic and international laws, rules, and regulations
• Stay abreast of evolving regulations in the cryptocurrency and blockchain technology sector
• Assist in design, implementation, update, and audit of policies and procedures to ensure company’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Provide practical advice on all matters that affect the company and balance risks against business objectives
• Work closely with the C-Level suite executive team

What you will have

• Relevant experience in a top law firm, EC/VC or fund group, and/or in-house legal team at a startup
• Must have a strategic approach to legal problem solving, and be detail-oriented, organized, efficient, and resourceful with strong follow-through skills
• Have broad legal knowledge that enables you to issue spot and resolve a variety of legal issues in upcoming product offerings (e.g., regulatory, contract, IP, privacy, risk); and an ability to distill complexity and to identify and clearly communicate practical, risk-based solutions
• Experience actively managing and supervising outside counsel
• Superb communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex legal ideas clearly
• Be curious–willing and able to roll up your sleeves and get into the details- and energized by working on a team in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
• JD from an accredited law school; attorney's license must be current, active and in good standing
• Experience in crypto

Salary and benefits

Minimum full-time salary of $200,000. (**This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary; a final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.)
