The team

The Account Takeover Team is looking to onboard a new Account Takeover Analyst where you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our digital assets and customer accounts from unauthorized access and fraudulent activities. Learning opportunities and growth potential are abundant with many different focus areas to expand into once you’re proficient at the base operations level. If you’re a dedicated professional passionate about client security and maintaining Kraken’s standing as the industry leader in security, we look forward to your application!

The opportunity

  • Provide industry-leading support for Kraken clients by investigating, documenting, troubleshooting and resolving high-level, sensitive client issues in relation to security and account takeover incidents

  • Detect and investigate potential account takeover incidents, including identifying compromised accounts and security breaches

  • Stay updated on emerging account takeover threats and techniques through threat intelligence sources and adapt security measures accordingly

  • Continuous monitoring utilizing security tools and technologies to identify and mitigate account takeover threats

  • Maintain detailed records of account takeover incidents, investigations and actions taken for reporting and future reference

  • Analyze data and patterns to identify trends and anomalies that may indicate account takeover attempts or vulnerabilities

  • Execute complex, long-term projects with numerous stakeholders and advance Kraken’s security program

  • Identify product and system improvements, then using a data-driven approach to prevent suspicious activities at scale

Skills you should HODL

  • Experience in ATO prevention, information security, risk assessment, fraud or financial intelligence with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role

  • Proactive attitude of constantly seeking out opportunities to improve on processes and the experience of our employees and clients

  • Demonstrated experience working in high-performing teams that care deeply about the safeguard of their clients

  • Outstanding communication skills, able to communicate clearly and sensitively in written / verbal form

  • Ability to coordinate closely with CE, product, legal, compliance and engineering teams

  • Advanced logical, analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Fantastic collaboration, facilitation and troubleshooting skills

  • Enjoys finding and solving problems

  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized

  • Self-motivated and able to make quick and tough decisions autonomously

  • In-depth understanding of the Kraken platform and our security features

  • Proficiency in data analysis via Google Sheets, SQL and the use of fraud detection tools and platforms

Nice to haves

  • Chainalysis expertise

  • Familiarity with Confluence and strong documentation writing skills

  • Basic to Intermediate knowledge of Splunk

  • Cybersecurity experience / certificate

  • Advanced data analysis skills

  • Programming and script writing skills (Python, etc.)

  • Understanding of machine learning and AI
