About the role:
You will be a part of the investment team at CoinDCX. This is a global crypto VC fund, with a mandate to invest in crypto startups, across stages, globally. We have a preference for early stage startups in the space, but our mandate is flexible. The team will also be responsible for leading M&A activities at CoinDCX where we can also acquire companies that are strategic to our interest.
Key Functions,
Research: Research evolving trends in the global blockchain landscape, and develop theses on investment opportunities. Publish research in periodic internal/external publications
Sourcing: Proactively source and identify new investment opportunities within the global blockchain ecosystem and ensure a strong and continuous pipeline of potential investment opportunities
Relationship building: With the broader ecosystem, engineers, influencers, marketing/PR/dev partners, entrepreneurs and other investors
Due diligence: help evaluate investment opportunities through market research, product reviews, competitive analysis, metrics analysis, customer/user reviews and technical diligence
Portfolio value addition: help monitor progress of portfolio companies; help portfolio companies in every way possible, help connect portfolio companies to the CoinDCX ecosystem and the other portfolio companies; help develop strategy and team, help with future fund raises for portfolio companies etc.; publishing scorecards and progress reports on portfolio companies
M&A: work with internal stakeholders to identify significant acceleration opportunities through M&A, align stakeholders on potential acquisitions and closely handhold post-merger integration work
3+ years of experience as an early stage investor with a top-tier VC firm OR 3+ years of experience as an entrepreneur/operator in the crypto space with deep connections in the domestic/global crypto community
Passionate about cryptocurrency and blockchain and a desire to use technology as an enabler and catalyst to change the world
Exceptional written and communication skills and ability to absorb a lot of information and synthesize in a crisp manner
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to create strong relationships with entrepreneurs, other investors and the broader blockchain ecosystem
Strong team player who takes initiative; value system based on passion, hard work, integrity and humility
Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in engineering or economics/finance with excellent academic credentials
Nice to have
In depth understanding of the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry, including trends, themes, innovations etc.
Engineering experience, preferably within the blockchain ecosystem
