Online Community Manager

DecenHealth DAO
$75k - $85k

This job is closed

We are looking for a freelance/self-employed community manager to take control of our online voice and build brand awareness and loyalty as we create a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (a DAO) in the healthcare space. Our goal is to create a member-owned online community that focuses on giving members access to more healthcare options with better outcomes and cheaper out-of-pocket costs.

The community manager will be the point person responsible for communicating outward to DAO members of new proposals, offerings from Care Delivery Organizations (CDOs), PR, social media, and marketing content to create a strong community identity. You will be the first point of contact for online fans, newly joined members, media and followers, thus developing an intimate relationship with the online community.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep passion for social media, (particularly Reddit, Facebook Groups, Discord and Notion) stay abreast of new developments and opportunities in the health sector & web3, and be a strategic thinker. You must have an outgoing personality as person-to-person connections will be critical to succeeding in this role.

Community Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop a content plan. (We already have a head start, but would love additional expertise)

  • Create engaging content for all platforms, including blog pieces, articles, social media posts, landing pages, newsletters, and videos.

  • Engage with the online community (and parallel communities on FB and Reddit) and respond to comments and requests, potentially by using a feedback/community management platform like Mobilize, Circle, Brightidea, Hivebrite or Sprinklr. (We're still evaluating vendors in this space and would love your input!)

  • Analyze web traffic and relevant community metrics. Keeping member engagement high is very important to us.

  • Relay community feedback to relevant internal stakeholders/DAO community leaders.

  • Model and implement community outreach initiatives.

  • Liaise with other departments/DAO workstreams (we're calling them "Circles") to help everyone stay updated on new outreach initiatives, product and service developments, and to ensure brand consistency.

  • Attend networking events or relevant industry workshops (when feasible, role is 100% remote but happy to pay for professional development or relevant conferences).

  • Liaise with external agencies or journalists to ensure accurate brand representation.
Community Manager Requirements:

  • A degree in communication, English, journalism, marketing, or related field may be required. Significant prior experience/portfolio of work can be substituted in lieu of a formal degree.

  • Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Discord, Reddit, Notation and YouTube is essential.

  • Knowledge of community feedback platforms like Mobilize, Circle, Brightidea, Hivebrite, Sprinklr or similar programs to manage online postings on different platforms.

  • Prior experience with customer-facing healthcare/clinical settings (front desk, customer support) or other healthcare domain knowledge/experience is a differentiator

  • Experience with DAOs and/or Web3 a huge plus!

  • Proficient in Google Analytics.

  • At least two years of experience managing legacy social media platforms.

  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of marketing trends and engagement techniques.

  • Excellent time management skills.
