Exponent
$105k - $180k estimated
Remote

Exponent is a new DeFi protocol launching soon on Solana. Our team has years of experience working in Solana for teams like Squads, Kamino, Raydium and more. We are backed by top investors and angels in the space.

At Exponent you will have the opportunity to build with us the first yield trading exchange on Solana. Through Exponent, users can speculate on yields across Solana DeFi (interest rates, rewards, airdrops), hedge them, or reduce their volatility.

We deeply believe Solana is the best blockchain infrastructure for financial products and care about making it the richest on-chain economy for its participants. By joining us, you will have the opportunity to build a more efficient financial economy on Solana within an $8B+ ecosystem.

Your Role

As an early-stage startup, we are seeking engineers who can iterate and ship quickly as well as have a high degree of ownership and agency. We are looking for an additional smart contract engineer to assist our current engineering team on the liquidity side of Exponent. In this role you will:

  • Contribute to, develop, and maintain Exponent’s core liquidity programs such as our AMM and order book
  • Research areas of improvements in our protocol’s liquidity mechanisms
  • Work closely with our smart contract and product teams to scope and implement new liquidity features

Requirements

Although we don’t look for exact minimum years of experience, we expect you to have some existing qualifications:

  • Experience in building, deploying, and maintaining Solana programs in production using Rust (with or without Anchor)
  • Experience maintaining DeFi programs that have handled significant on-chain volume
  • Deep understanding of major DeFi primitives (AMM, lending, order book, perpetual margin trading)
  • A passion for decentralized finance

Strong plus

  • Experience in quant trading or market making
  • Personal interest in providing liquidity on AMMs or running strategies on on-chain order books

About the Exponent team

We’re a fast moving and degen at heart team building defi products to improve the Solana DeFi ecosystem and bring better financial products to it. We started Exponent because we ourselves were in need of better solutions to speculate and hedge defi yields on Solana.

As an early-stage crypto startup we iterate and ship fast, but never neglect security (we are paranoid about it). We also care about attentiveness and giving our users a great, well-thought and secure experience over overloaded product features.

We recently closed a pre-seed round by top investors and angels in the space and are looking to expand our team of five as we prepare for our public launch. If you crave autonomy and agency to deliver top class financial products and are looking for a long-term oriented crypto protocol, come join our team.

You’ll get

  • Generous ownership and stake in the company. We’re looking for owners.
  • A fast-paced, no-BS environment. Communication overhead to a bare minimum.
  • Work remotely from anywhere. Our team is spread across the US, Europe and Asia.
  • Generous compensation. We are a lean team and look for A players.
  • All-expenses-paid team retreats, 1-2 times a year.
