Team Description: Staking is one of BitGo’s fastest-growing businesses, powering billions in delegated assets across multiple chains. The Staking Platform Team builds the core services and APIs that enable secure, reliable, and performant staking for both institutional and retail partners. By abstracting blockchain complexity, we empower our customers to earn yield on their crypto while supporting the decentralization and security of leading networks. We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Lead with a strong distributed systems background and a track record of building platform teams. You’ll lead a high-performing group responsible for turning blockchain infrastructure into simple, scalable, and secure platform APIs that serve all of BitGo’s staking products. What you’ll be doing:

Build, lead, and scale engineering teams focused on staking services and infrastructure. Coach and mentor engineers, supporting career growth while driving measurable organizational impact. Partner with product managers, designers, and leadership to translate vision into quarterly roadmaps. Break down complex projects into iterative milestones and lead delivery. Make thoughtful architectural decisions, uphold engineering best practices, and foster a culture of high-quality code. Own the design, delivery, and operation of distributed, multi-tenanted systems at scale. Collaborate closely with recruiting to identify and attract world-class engineering talent. Drive operational excellence and ensure platform services meet rigorous SLAs. Roll up your sleeves when needed — from reviewing designs and code to triaging incidents or joining on-call rotations.

What we look for in you:

7+ years of experience in software engineering. 2+ years of engineering management experience. Strong background in distributed systems, APIs, and infrastructure at scale. Deep understanding of high-quality code and robust engineering processes. Execution-focused, able to deliver results amid ambiguity. Capable of balancing long-term vision with immediate priorities. Hands-on technical ability when required. Genuine passion for building secure and reliable financial infrastructure for the digital asset ecosystem.

Nice to haves:

Experience working with blockchain protocols (e.g. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Proof-of-Stake networks). Crypto-native fluency: comfortable interacting with addresses, validators, dApps, and other on-chain services. Experience building high-throughput distributed systems or data pipelines. Pay Transparency Notice: Depending upon your leveling and location, the compensation for this role averages between $220,000 - $290,000 CAD base salary.
