What will your contribution in this role be?

- To write portable and reusable code for data gathering and analysis using Python and REST API frameworks.
- To ensure the availability of clean, usable data and data services.
- To work closely with Product Owners to implement data pools and services.
- To be a source of knowledge and guidance to other members of the development pool.

Key Accountabilities

    • Develop new data pools and enhance existing ones
    • Be one of our gurus on data acquisition and transformation
    • Participate in software design
    • Collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced environment based on project-oriented virtual teams.

    • Thinking within substantially diversified, established procedures, standards and precedents; generally supervised.
    • Changing priorities or differing situations encountered in the work environment, the incumbent has latitude to consider which among many procedures should be followed, in what sequence, to achieve the required results.
    • Covered by practices and procedures which have clear precedents and/or operational guidance.
    • Subject to managerial control and review of results.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent

Minimum Experience

    • 4+ years of experience in data engineering
    • Experience in writing tests, both code and data with a strong desire to champion those standards.
    • Experience with a number of differing data storage solutions, SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehouses, data lakes etc.
    • Cloud experience (ideally GCP but transferable skills from other cloud providers is also fine).

Hard Skills

    • Expert in python, including tests.
    • Expert in python libraries such as Pandas, Numpy and Tensorflow or Pytorch
    • Knowledge of asynchronous task libraries, such as Celery.
    • Fluent is SQL (exact flavor doesn’t really matter), with experience in using window functions and the more advanced features.
    • Understanding of Docker & Kubernetes
    • Good understanding of data warehouse structuring
    • Full grasp of git
    • Very good understanding of blockchain technology, including the Ethereum blockchain and smart contracts

Salary Range

    • US$ 40000 - 65000 per year (depends upon candidate´s experience and knowledge)
