Position

The Strategy Team is the arm of the firm that is responsible for making decisions to help grow the company through business strategy, strategic partnerships, and Corporate Development/M&A activity.

Driven by an insatiable passion for the cryptocurrency and the Bitcoin mining industry, the Strategy Team is rigorous in their analytical methods, creative approach, and thorough problem-solving abilities. We build relationships with internal and external stakeholders easily by influencing decisions with a collaborative, data- based approach.

• Identify, analyze, and recommend business strategies, strategic business partnerships, and acquisition and investment opportunities that accelerate Marathon’s mission

• Leverage financial models to analyze and select the best path and partnerships to support the blockchain ecosystem and Marathon's strategic goals

• Build external business development initiatives that promote Marathon’s revenues, services, and products

• Enhance ESG initiatives such as achieving 100% neutrality by year-end 2023

• Evaluate new strategies and opportunities using quantitative and qualitative methods

• Maintain understanding of latest trends and technologies in the blockchain space

Qualifications

• Experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management/strategy consulting, or tech

• Extreme interest (and ideally experience) with cryptocurrency and/or mining

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office

• Experience managing strategies, multiple partnerships, and business deals at once through all deal phases

• Independent and able to execute projects with little supervision

• Strong experience in developing financial models such as market data models, revenue projections, and ability to find creative solutions/deal structures

• Strong communication skills; verbal, written, and presentational; high attention to detail.
