Position Summary:

The Fixed Income Repo Sales & Trading Division provides a comprehensive array of fixed income instruments to arbitrage accounts, corporations, endowments, fund managers, hedge funds, insurance companies, municipalities and others with diverse investment goals and strategies.

The Repo Macro Sales and Trading intern will gain a comprehensive overview of the funding and money market business. In addition to broad product and business exposure, the intern will develop a basic understanding of monetary policy and its impact on fixed income markets. Additional project work may include assessing evolving technologies such as blockchain and cryptocurrency and the potential impacts to the structure of fixed income markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce daily market commentary
  • Assist in responding to specific client portfolio requests
  • Engage in specific desk-related projects, including the creation of PowerPoint presentations
  • Collaborate on building a Treasury debt financing forecasting model
  • Monitor trade flows and liaise with operations for settlement issues
  • Create spreadsheets, market monitors, pricing models product-specific analysis, portfolio comparative analysis and sales and trading reports


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated record of strong academic performance
  • Fundamental research, math, accounting and Bloomberg skills
  • Knowledge of fixed income preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated; detail-oriented
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, initiative, enthusiasm and self-motivation, demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in work product


Work Environment:

This position works Monday - Friday in-office, 40-hours per week for 10-weeks.
