Job Description
BlockApps is looking for a creative, flexible, solution-oriented application developer to join our growing application development team. Application engineers innovate and work on our flagship STRATO Mercata Marketplace, a cutting-edge Web3 marketplace for trading real-world assets. Our full-stack application developers come up with creative end-user focused technology solutions as we scale our user base and assets on the platform. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a product that has a direct impact on the company’s growth.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Visualize, mock-up, and implement web UIs that improve end user experience
- Architect backends that store app data and execute app logic through smart contracts on our STRATO blockchain
- Understand the capabilities of the STRATO blockchain platform so that you can make use of its features and influence its evolution
- Perform domain research to both better understand the blockchain technology space, as well as as our customer needs
Required Technologies/Skills
- Experience with web app development
- Javascript
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, and their best practices
- NodeJS
- ExpressAPI
- Frontend JavaScript frameworks, particularly React
- Understanding of relational databases (we use PostgreSQL)
- Source code management tools, such as Git and Github
- Degree in computer science or related field, experience in software engineering or equivalent work experience
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
- Tendency towards simplicity in design and implementation
Nice to have Technologies/Skills
- Cloud computing services, particularly AWS and Google Cloud
- Containerization technologies, particularly Docker
- Blockchain fundamental concepts
- Ethereum protocols
- Smart contracting languages, such as Solidity
- Functional programming, particularly Haskell
