Our global team works across different cultures and time zones, bringing our products to more than 6 million customers, making us one of Europe’s safest and most secure platforms that powers modern investing.   Headquartered in Austria but operating across Europe, our products are built by fast-moving, talented, “roll-up-your-sleeves-and-make-it-happen” kind of people. It’s these diverse perspectives and innovative minds operating as ONE TEAM that keep Bitpanda at the cutting edge of our industry. So if you’re someone who thinks big, moves fast and wants to make an impact right from day one, then get ready to join our industry-changing team. Let’s go!    Your mission As a Senior Product Designer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of financial independence for millions of customers. At Bitpanda, we’re breaking down the barriers to crypto and modern investing, creating intuitive and simple experiences that empower people to make their financial freedom a reality. You will own the experience design of user-centric digital products and initiatives across different areas of the platform, from crypto investing to portfolio management and beyond. Your mission is to craft intuitive, impactful, and delightful solutions that resonate with our users and deliver measurable business outcomes.   What you’ll do

Design Exceptional Experiences: Create and deliver mobile and desktop experiences that simplify investment products and make complex financial concepts accessible, easy-to-use and engaging. Own End-to-End UX Initiatives: Manage design projects from concept to launch, including design sprints, collaboration sessions, sketching, wireframing, prototyping (low to high fidelity), user testing, and presenting to stakeholders. Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to turn user insights and business needs into concepts and solutions, balancing user and business value through exploration, definition, and validation. Conduct User Research: Leverage interviews, usability tests, and data insights to validate and iterate on designs, ensuring they meet user needs and align with Bitpanda’s product strategy. Mentor and Advocate: Support peers, contribute to a high level of design maturity, and act as a strong voice for user experience across teams.

  Who you are

You bring a versatile set of product design skills (product, interaction and visual design) and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments where you can handle multiple projects with minimal direction. You have 3+ years of experience designing digital products in cross-functional teams – ideally in fintech, crypto, or other complex domains – utilizing tools like Figma, Miro, and JIRA, and modern design systems and processes. You’re passionate about crypto and financial products, with a strong interest in making them more accessible and user-friendly. You collaborate seamlessly with stakeholders and peers to define project goals, timelines, constraints, and priorities. You’re fluent in English (German is a plus) and excel at cross-team collaboration.

What does a product designer do?

A product designer is responsible for creating and designing the physical and visual aspects of a product, with the aim of enhancing its functionality, usability, and aesthetics

This involves a broad range of tasks, such as researching and analyzing customer needs, designing user interfaces, creating sketches and prototypes, testing and refining designs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the final product meets the intended user needs and business goals

A product designer must have a deep understanding of design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and technological advancements in order to create products that are both innovative and functional

They must also have excellent communication skills, as they work closely with engineers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that the product is developed on time, within budget, and meets the desired quality standards

Product designers work in a variety of industries, such as consumer electronics, furniture, automotive, fashion, and healthcare, to name a few

They may work for large corporations, small businesses, or as freelance designers, and often collaborate with other designers, engineers, and manufacturers to bring their designs to life

In web3, a product designer is responsible for designing and creating decentralized applications (dApps) and other products that leverage blockchain technology, smart contracts, and decentralized networks

This involves understanding the unique technical and functional requirements of web3 products, as well as the principles of decentralization, transparency, and user ownership

Web3 product designers need to be familiar with blockchain technology, smart contract programming languages, and decentralized networks, in order to design products that can operate effectively in a decentralized environment

They need to be able to work with developers and other stakeholders to ensure that the product is designed in a way that maximizes user control and ownership, while minimizing the potential for fraud or malicious activity

Web3 product designers may work on a range of products, such as decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, non-fungible token (NFT) marketplaces, decentralized social networks, and more

They may also work closely with blockchain developers, economists, and other specialists to create products that are both innovative and practical, while maintaining a strong focus on user experience.
