QA Engineer, Mobile (Android)

The Opportunity
To help scale Solana Mobile, we are seeking an QA Engineer, Android to join our team for a limited-length contract, starting in Summer 2025. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, versatile individual who is passionate about Software Engineering in Test on mobile platforms, that will shape Solana Mobile’s test infrastructure and onboard the next generation of Solana Mobile developers.
You will
- Design, develop, test and deploy new tools for the automation of Android app quality control.
- Build new Android libraries to improve review and test automation for Solana Mobile products.
- Take ownership of the release process for decentralized applications distributed on the Solana Mobile platform.
- Take ownership of manual testing of Android apps built by 3rd party developers.
You ideally have
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Java, C++ or Kotlin.
- Proficiency using command-line tools such as Bash, Zsh or similar on Linux or OS X.
- Strong scripting skills for the purpose of automation within CI/CD infrastructure.
- Experience in the development of Android instrumentation tests, using JUnit, Espresso, UI Automator, or similar tooling.
- Experience working within a small engineering team that independently translates product requirements into execution and results.
Requirements
- Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Able to work remotely within US time zones. Offices available in New York City.
- Strong communications skills both written and verbal.
