Staff Frontend Engineer

Location: New York

Compensation: $250K - $300K

We are a team of elite builders moving at the speed of the most active markets in the world. As core contributors to the largest crypto social network globally, we build products at the frontier of consumer scale and performance. Our work ships to millions of users and sets the bar for speed, polish, and reliability in the decentralized space. We are looking for a Staff Frontend Engineer to define our frontend architecture and elevate our engineering standards. This is a critical leadership role for someone who still loves to build. You will shape the technical direction of high-impact user-facing systems that operate at "internet scale," ensuring our products remain the gold standard for consumer crypto experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Vision: Define and drive the long-term frontend architecture, ensuring it can support millions of concurrent users
  • High-Impact Shipping: Lead the execution of complex, user-facing features from ideation through to global deployment
  • Technical Excellence: Elevate engineering standards through rigorous code reviews, documentation, and the implementation of best practices
  • Scale & Performance: Obsess over frontend performance, hydration, and rendering speeds to maintain our reputation for high-polish interfaces
  • Mentorship: Act as a technical lead, elevating the team's capabilities and fostering a culture of high-agency building

Requirements

We are looking for a senior-level expert who can operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and mentor the team around them.

Must-Haves:

  • Technical Mastery: Deep professional experience with React and Next.js, having shipped multiple high-traffic production web applications
  • Architectural Depth: A profound understanding of modern frontend architecture, including server-side rendering (SSR), hydration, and complex performance tradeoffs
  • State & Data: Mastery of advanced state management and data-fetching patterns
  • Environment: Experience operating in high-growth, high-ownership environments where speed is a competitive advantage
  • Location: Must be able to work on-site in NYC

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience within the Crypto / Web3 industry
  • Previous experience at a high-growth scale-up with a rigorous engineering culture
  • Familiarity with performance profiling, frontend observability, and analytics
  • A portfolio of work on consumer-facing products with large, active user bases

Benefits

  • High Visibility: Work on one of the most visible and widely used consumer crypto products in the world
  • Elite Talent Density: Join a lean, fast-moving team of world-class engineers where you have immediate and visible impact
  • Growth & Upside: We offer a highly competitive compensation package designed to reward elite performance
  • Competitive Base Salary
  • Significant Equity/Token upside
  • Flexible and negotiable equity opportunities

What does a React developer in web3 do?

A React developer in the context of web3 is a developer who is using the React JavaScript library to build user interfaces for decentralized applications (dApps) that run on the Ethereum blockchain

These dApps often use smart contracts to facilitate transactions and other interactions on the Ethereum network

Overall, the role of a React developer in web3 involves using your skills in React development to help build cutting-edge decentralized applications that leverage the power of the Ethereum blockchain

As a React developer in web3, some of your responsibilities might include:

  • Integrating the dApp with the Ethereum blockchain. This might involve using tools like web3.js and Ethers.js to connect to the Ethereum network and interact with smart contracts.
  • Building the user interface for a dApp using React. This could involve creating components for the various elements of the dApp, such as buttons, forms, and other input elements.
  • Implementing features that are specific to decentralized applications, such as handling cryptocurrency transactions and displaying data from the blockchain in a user-friendly way.
  • Collaborating with other members of the development team, such as blockchain engineers and designers, to ensure that the dApp functions properly and meets the needs of the end users.
