We are partnering with a fast-growing decentralised infrastructure web3 startup who are searching an experienced Engineering leader with deep Web3 expertise to take ownership of our technical roadmap, lead and scale the engineering team, and drive the architecture of our core protocols and systems.
The Role
As an Engineering Leader at this company, you will:
Lead all engineering efforts, from architecture and infrastructure to protocol and product engineering.
Drive the execution of the technical roadmap and ensure on-time delivery.
Build and scale a high-performing, distributed engineering team across frontend, backend, smart contract, and DevOps disciplines.
Collaborate with founders, product, and community stakeholders to align on strategy and goals.
Provide technical direction across systems, including smart contracts (EVM-compatible), decentralised infrastructure, APIs, security models, and on/off-chain integrations.
Champion best practices for security, scalability, performance, and testing across the stack.
Help shape company strategy from a technical lens, contributing to tokenomics, governance, and protocol-level decisions.
Your experience
7+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years leading engineering teams.
Deep technical expertise in Web3, including smart contracts (Solidity, Vyper), blockchain architectures (EVM, L2s, bridges, etc.), wallets, and cryptographic primitives (zk-SNARKs/ZKPs a plus).
Proven track record building and scaling production-level decentralized applications or protocols.
Strong experience across the stack: backend (Node.js, Rust, Go), frontend (React, TypeScript), and infrastructure (Kubernetes, IPFS, The Graph, etc.).
Clear and strategic communicator with experience collaborating cross-functionally.
Passion for decentralised systems, open source, and permissionless innovation.
Bonus Points for
Previously held a VP of Engineering / CTO role in a Web3 startup.
Deep knowledge of token engineering, DAO frameworks, or DeFi mechanisms.
Contributions to open-source Web3 libraries or protocols.
Experience working with zero-knowledge proof systems or privacy-preserving technologies.
Benefits
A mission-driven team deeply rooted in decentralisation and user ownership.
Competitive compensation with equity and/or token allocation.
Full ownership of engineering decisions and the opportunity to shape our future.
Remote-first culture with flexible hours.
Direct impact on Web3 innovation.
What does a React developer in web3 do?
A React developer in the context of web3 is a developer who is using the React JavaScript library to build user interfaces for decentralized applications (dApps) that run on the Ethereum blockchain
These dApps often use smart contracts to facilitate transactions and other interactions on the Ethereum network
Overall, the role of a React developer in web3 involves using your skills in React development to help build cutting-edge decentralized applications that leverage the power of the Ethereum blockchain
As a React developer in web3, some of your responsibilities might include:
- Integrating the dApp with the Ethereum blockchain. This might involve using tools like web3.js and Ethers.js to connect to the Ethereum network and interact with smart contracts.
- Building the user interface for a dApp using React. This could involve creating components for the various elements of the dApp, such as buttons, forms, and other input elements.
- Implementing features that are specific to decentralized applications, such as handling cryptocurrency transactions and displaying data from the blockchain in a user-friendly way.
- Collaborating with other members of the development team, such as blockchain engineers and designers, to ensure that the dApp functions properly and meets the needs of the end users.
