Asymmetric Research:

Asymmetric Research ("AR") is a boutique security venture focused on deep partnerships with L1/L2 blockchains and DeFi protocols in an effort to keep them safe. We specialize in four core domains of web3 security: research, engineering, incident response, and infrastructure services.

Culture:

AR is a fully remote organization. Our team has deep roots in open-source development and decades of security-first experience at organizations such as Google, Netflix, Mozilla, Stripe, and Jump Crypto. We value autonomy, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Security Engineer for a 6-month contract engagement, requiring extensive experience in Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 technologies. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for engineering layered security solutions across complex systems, ensuring the protection of digital assets, and contributing to the development of security tools and protocols. Your expertise will be leveraged on a project basis to mitigate security risks, safeguard our infrastructure, and advance our mission to shape the decentralized future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide security-focused consulting services to customers as defined by the statement of work.

  • Operational support of key Web2 and Web3 security platforms as defined by the statement of work (typically Google Workspace, MDM, EDR, etc.)

  • Escalate to AR ES Consultants as required.

  • Participate in incident response efforts coordinated by the AR IR Team.

  • Stay abreast of emerging security threats and industry trends to address potential risks proactively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of security engineering experience, focusing on Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 technologies.

  • Proven track record in identifying and mitigating critical security flaws in complex systems.

  • Strong understanding of common security frameworks

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What does an Solana developer do?

As a Solana developer, your responsibilities would include designing, implementing, and maintaining applications on the Solana blockchain platform using Rust programming language

This would involve using the Solana software development kit (SDK) to write smart contracts and build decentralized applications (dApps) that make use of the platform's features and capabilities

You would also be responsible for ensuring that your dApps are secure, efficient, and scalable, and for testing and debugging your code to ensure its correct behavior

Additionally, you may be involved in the ongoing development and improvement of the Solana platform itself, working with other members of the Solana community to drive innovation and advance the state of blockchain technology.
