Spexi is a drone technology company on a mission to make ultra-high-resolution geospatial imagery more accessible than ever before, empowering humanity to make better decisions about the physical world.
We’re building an exciting new two-sided marketplace called the Spexi Network, powered by drones and blockchain technology. It's the world’s first Fly-to-Earn platform that enables drone pilots to earn rewards for flying and collecting aerial imagery. It also enables organizations of all sizes to quickly and easily access high-resolution aerial imagery and valuable derivative data, powering remote monitoring of buildings, infrastructure, natural resources, and more. Our goal is to guide their decision-making and help them better plan and react, without needing to own drones or hire pilots.
We’re looking for a Senior Blockchain Engineer to drive innovation in our blockchain-based network, enabling secure validation, provenance tracking, and decentralized verification for drone-captured data.
You’ll collaborate with a dynamic team to design and implement the underlying technology that powers our decentralized network, solving cutting-edge challenges in Web3 and geospatial systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write and deploy EVM-compatible, gas-efficient smart contracts for Proof of Capture, Data License-to-Access NFTs, and tokenization.
Architect decentralized protocols for secure image data availability
Solve Web 2.0–Blockchain challenges, including indexing blockchain data into Postgres DBs, optimizing gas costs for transactions, and managing private keys securely.
Leverage IPFS, Filecoin, or similar decentralized storage systems to manage geospatial data effectively.
Perform code reviews and security audits to ensure the integrity of smart contracts and collaborate cross-functionally to integrate blockchain systems into Spexi’s platform.
Troubleshoot and optimize smart contracts while staying current with blockchain trends and advancements.
Create clear technical documentation and mentor team members through knowledge sharing and code reviews.
WHAT YOU BRING:
5+ years of experience in blockchain or software development, including writing EVM-compatible smart contracts and integrating backend services with blockchain.
Proficiency in Solidity or similar languages for smart contract development.
Familiarity in decentralized systems, cryptographic primitives (e.g., ZK proofs), and decentralized storage solutions (e.g., IPFS/Filecoin).
Experience designing scalable, gas-efficient blockchain systems and working with Ethereum L2s or cross-chain bridges.
Familiarity with Web3 infrastructure and private key management.
BONUS POINTS:
Experience with decentralized governance models, airdrop mechanisms, and smart contract-driven decision-making.
Knowledge of blockchain-based encryption schemes and decentralized decryption solutions.
Experience designing and deploying App Chains tailored to specific use cases.
BENEFITS & PERKS:
At Spexi, we believe that a solid work-life balance is crucial for producing the best products for our customers. To help our employees stay happy and healthy, we offer the following benefits and perks:
Remote-friendly environment
Flexible hours
Medical, dental, and vision health benefits
Spexi is an inclusive employer that values workplace equality, supports diversity, and respects the unique qualities each individual brings to the company.
We thank all applicants for their interest. All applications will be reviewed to determine which candidates' education and experience best meet the needs of the position. Only individuals selected for interviews will be contacted.
