ABOUT AVALANCHE INTEROPERABILITY The Interoperability team develops novel solutions for blockchains to communicate with one another seamlessly and securely. This includes connecting Avalanche to external ecosystems (Ethereum, Bitcoin, etc) via the Avalanche Bridges, and connecting Avalanche L1s via Avalanche Interchain Messaging. Future work includes extending interoperability to new virtual machines, designing and implementing new protocols to connect to external ecosystems in a trust-minimized manner, and exploring new use cases of cross-chain applications. The mission is to make it as easy as possible for chains to connect and exchange data, ultimately making many blockchains feel like one.  WHAT YOU WILL DO - Design, optimize, and implement novel cross-chain transfer and interoperability protocols- Contribute to core technical projects of the Avalanche Interchain Messaging and the Avalanche Bridges, from planning through release- Engage with our open-source community- Develop automated testing suites and tools- Support our Infrastructure team with new releases and production monitoring (on-call rotation) WHAT YOU WILL BRING - BS in Computer Science or related discipline - 1+ years of hands on blockchain, consensus protocols, distributed systems, applied cryptography, or similar systems- Golang or C++ experience (Solidity is a big plus)- Strong understanding of blockchains and distributed systems (fee structures, transaction formats & consensus mechanisms)- Hands on experience with cloud deployments (AWS and/or Azure)- Experience with cross-chain protocols and smart contract development is a plus- Cryptography is a plus- Experience leading teams is a plus Salary Range: $214,990 - $228,427
