Information Security Intern

Through our blockchain technology and rapidly growing network of financial institutions, Ripple is improving the global financial system and increasing economic inclusion for more people, in more places around the world. As part of the Information Security team, you will help us achieve this mission by actively working to protect our staff, company, and the larger crypto communities we engage with.

We are actively hiring for intern level roles that will give you the opportunity to explore career opportunities within a rapidly growing blockchain leader.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Ripple is a fast moving organization and we have many areas where we can adapt a project to meet an intern's areas of interest and strength. You will collaborate across the business with other leaders in Engineering, Product, IT, Legal, and Compliance to ensure Ripple maintains a world class security posture. We have opportunities across multiple pillars of our Information Security program and we are flexible in developing projects aligned to an intern candidate's specific area of interest. Our opportunities include projects with duties related to:

• Building automation to drive operational processes and respond to emergent issues
• Security control testing
• Enhancing our governance, risk, and compliance processes
• Prepare and update incident response plan and playbooks
• Security assessment and threat modeling related to cloud infrastructure, systems, or services
• Assessing existing security services to maximize service coverage and effectiveness

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• Currently enrolled or a recent graduate in a Computer Sciences or related discipline, preferably with an Information Security major or significant focus
• Ability to understand enterprise business computing operations/requirements, and the public cloud
• Someone with a demonstrated passionate about building a career in Information Security
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skill
• Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Must have a competitive GPA/demonstrate a strong work ethic
• Must not be actively enrolled with class work during the timeframe of the intern program

NOT REQUIRED, BUT NICE TO HAVE (one or more):

• Coding proficiency
• Understanding of security principals in public cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or GCP)
• Working knowledge of container orchestration systems (Kubernetes)
• General understanding of incident response processes
