Role

As a Business Analyst, you will work closely with Asset Management investment teams to understand their investment process and their data needs for making investment decisions. Additionally, you will work with Index Providers to understand specific index methodologies and a holistic understanding of their data distribution channels. You will then work with our data engineers to build a data supply chain that satisfies the business needs of both the publisher as well as the subscribers. The role provides a unique opportunity to work with multiple investment teams and Index Providers to design innovative workflows that meet their research and investment needs, their technology stack, and their data needs. The goal is to enable automation to allow asset management firms to scale their business and modernize their operational workflows while reducing risk. More broadly, work with various Capital Market participants to provide solutions that remove friction across participants

What You'll Do

• Collecting new data requirements from client investment teams, investment professionals, and other business personas
• Accountable for creating user stories and ensuring each have acceptance criteria
• Proficiently help development teams to break down large user stories for execution.
• Working with engineers to translate these requirements into data products
• Reviewing data product prototypes and providing guidance to the development team
• Evaluating external data vendors and data products
• Documenting data products and make them discoverable, and usable by business users via our data platform
• Reviewing existing systems and proposing enhancements
• Driving problem resolution through a “hands-on” approach that will often require diving headfirst into the data through SQL/ Python
• Designing quality checks for data production operations

Requirements

• Experience gathering business requirements and creating functional specifications
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting financial data products and processes
• Deep knowledge in index data and financial vendor products such as MSCI, FTSE-Russell, S&P Global, Bloomberg, Refinitiv
• 7+ years experience manipulating, and analyzing data using technologies / tools such as SQL or Python
• Self-starter who is capable of learning on the job, takes initiative, and can thrive within an innovative environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary Range:

• $150,000 - $180,000
