Let’s go!Your mission As Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal expert role in Bitpanda’s growth by providing actionable legal advice in regulatory matters, particularly within the fields of crypto assets and financial instruments such as derivatives, certificates and CFDs. You will be responsible for navigating the complex regulatory landscape of financial products, ensuring compliance with local and international laws, and guiding the company's strategic legal initiatives. What you’ll do 

Lead and manage legal efforts related to crypto assets and financial instruments such as derivatives, certificates and CFDs across multiple jurisdictions, particularly focusing on EU regulations like MiCAR, MiFID II and PSD2/Emoney. Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of complex commercial and financial agreements, including those related to financial products, licensing, and partnerships. Serve as a key advisor on matters, particularly around regulatory developments, licensing applications, and financial product offerings in various jurisdictions. Provide actionable advice on new products from a legal and regulatory perspective and keep key stakeholders aligned in a dynamic work environment.  Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Compliance, Operations) to develop new financial products and services in accordance with regulatory frameworks. Support Bitpanda’s business development by identifying risks and crafting risk mitigation strategies and support the management of complex partnerships in the industry. Ensure that the company’s operations comply with regulatory requirements and international standards.

Who you are 

Education: A law degree from an Austrian or German university with a focus on financial regulatory and commercial law. Experience: At least 5+ years experience, ideally in a law firm or in-house counsel role, focusing on regulated institutions and financial products. Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of EU regulatory frameworks (MiCAR, MiFID II, PSD2, EMoney, AML) and experience working with financial products such as derivatives, certificates and CFDs. Language Skills: Fluency in German and English is essential. Skills: Demonstrated ability to work independently and solution oriented on complex regulatory matters, draft commercial agreements and expert legal opinions, and manage cross-functional teams. Strong communication and negotiation skills are a must. Leadership: Proven ability to lead high-priority projects and provide strategic guidance to senior management.
