At Helius, we believe compensation should reflect both market value and individual impact. We benchmark against industry data to ensure fairness, offer meaningful equity so every team member shares in our upside, and reward high performance with greater pay growth over time. Our goal is to align incentives so you’re recognized for the results you deliver while sharing ownership in building the future of crypto infrastructure.

About Helius

Helius is a leading developer platform on the Solana blockchain, dedicated to inspiring and accelerating the creation of crypto-powered software. Customers like Coinbase, Jupiter, and Phantom use Helius to power their applications on Solana.

We’ve raised over $34m from Haun Ventures, Founders Fund, Foundation Capital, 6th Man Ventures, Reciprocal Ventures, Chapter One and angel investors including Solana co-founders Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal, and Balaji Srinivasan. Our team members have previously built mission-critical, scalable infrastructure at AWS, Coinbase, Stripe, Google, Digital Ocean, and more.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead Core Product and Platform Engineering—the backbone of Helius. Your teams power our low-latency RPC APIs, data streams, and Solana validators. These performance-critical systems must adhere to extremely high standards for availability, latency, and reliability. The surface area is large, the expectations are high, and the impact is immediate.

You’ll drive technical direction across some of the most demanding systems in the Solana ecosystem. You’ll coach senior engineers and managers, shape engineering culture, and partner directly with founders on strategy. This role calls for someone with a deeply technical background, who transitioned to engineering leadership in search of broadening their impact. You must operate with high agency, bring clarity to complex problems, and guide teams through fast-paced, high-stakes execution. It’s ideal for someone on a path toward VP Eng who wants real scope and responsibility.

What You'll Do

  • Lead engineering across Core Product and Platform, and other high-scale distributed systems

  • Set direction for availability, latency, reliability, and long-term system architecture

  • Partner with founders on company-wide engineering strategy and prioritization

  • Coach and grow engineering managers and staff engineers

  • Build and reinforce a culture of ownership, clarity, urgency, and technical excellence

  • Maintain high velocity without compromising correctness or quality

  • Simplify complex problems and keep teams aligned and unblocked

What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience leading distributed systems teams at scale

  • Strong technical depth, ideally in performance-sensitive or always-on systems

  • Experience operating high-availability production systems (e.g. AWS, Cloudflare, Datadog, Vercel, or similar)

  • Ability to drive clarity and execution in ambiguous, high-pressure scenarios

  • Strong people leadership skills paired with deep curiosity and a bias for ownership

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Solana, blockchain, or web3 infrastructure

Why Helius?

  • High-impact work: Your code will power applications used by millions across the Solana ecosystem, including Coinbase, Jupiter, and Phantom

  • Serious engineering: Build fast, reliable systems and user experiences across distributed infra, high-throughput backends, and modern frontend stacks

  • Ownership & growth: Lead critical initiatives, influence architecture and product direction, and take on more responsibility as the company scales

  • Remote-first flexibility: Work where you’re most effective with a flexible, fully distributed team

  • Competitive comp & perks: Market-leading salary, meaningful equity, generous vacation, wellness budgets, and support for learning and travel

  • Mission-driven team: Join ambitious builders who move fast, take ownership, and are shaping the future of decentralized apps.

Compensation Range: $200K - $300K
