About ProofOfCommunity (POC):
Proof of Community by Shardeum is an educational initiative aimed at promoting Web3 awareness and growth. It seeks to democratize decentralization through three types of events: Meetups, Workshops, and Campus activities.
*To date, Shardeum has organized over 400 Proof of Community events, attracting more than 24,500 participants across 150+ cities in 16 countries.
Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture an organic Web3 community across the APAC and Africa regions.
Meetup Organization
- Plan and conduct community meetups, campus seminars/webinars, and workshops with the assistance of local community members.
- Facilitate meetup organization by coordinating with local organizers, ensuring they understand and follow the POC playbook, and obtaining required deliverables.
- Work with regional organizers to book venues, arrange food and beverages, reach out to speakers, and manage registrations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the Web3 ecosystem for speaker and partnership opportunities.
- Co-host meetups with other Web3 projects and platforms.
- Prepare and maintain data and feedback for meetups, analyze it, and continuously improve the process and participant experience.
Hackathons
- Organize hackathons for developers periodically.
Conferences
- Plan and manage larger conferences at specific geographic locations.
Leader Development
- Identify and empower local leaders across various regions to organize meetups.
Content Creation
- Create presentations for meetups and workshops to guide local organizers.
- Develop and maintain playbooks for organizing meetups.
- Handle marketing materials for the events. Produce promotional content for events, both pre and post.
- Generate educational content for the community.
- Coordinate and update website pages related to Proof Of Community meetups.
Requirements
- Passionate about Web3
- 3+ years of meetup/event management experience preferred
- Past experience in a web3 company
- A proven track record of managing meetups and events
- Multitasking, managing expectations, and coordinating across stakeholders under tight deadlines & budget
- Highly organized and structured, able to solve problems and use data effectively
- Skilled in handling event registration platforms, email campaign tools, report generation tools, and other utilities such as Notion
