About the Role
Serotonin is seeking a Sr. Public Relations Manager to lead strategic communications and media relations for our web3 clients. In this role, you will join the Serotonin PR team, a dynamic group of industry-recognized comms specialists responsible for leading go-to-market PR strategies for the leading players in web3.  Serotonin’s holistic approach to marketing creates valuable opportunities for cross-functional collaboration across events, content, social, community, strategy and more. Sr. PR Managers are empowered to be true owners of their work, while leveraging the shared resources, relationships and strategic support of the entire PR team. 

The ideal candidate has a results-driven comms practice and track record of strategizing and executing a variety of PR functions, in addition to a strong network of journalist relationships and client services expertise. Prior experience working in web3 in related in-house, or agency roles, is required. We are specifically seeking candidates with a background in crypto, fintech, infrastructure, and NFTs, with an understanding of how blockchain technology can be leveraged in industries such as financial services, consumer finance, VC/investing, gaming and entertainment. Candidates must have a strong interest in these topics and must be eager to immerse themselves in this new and exciting industry. 

Please Note: We are seeking someone who has experience with Western Crypto PR who can lead on Eastern to Western Market client work. This individual can be based directly within the APAC Market (Singapore, Hong Kong, etc.) or we are also open to someone working mostly APAC hours on the West Coast.

Responsibilities

    • Lead PR campaigns and announcements— set the strategy, goals, tactics, research and execution for optimal earned media outcomes
    • Media targets — leverage existing contacts and cultivate new relationships with web3 trade press and journalists across tech, business and mainstream media (digital publications, podcasts, video, etc.)  
    • Content creation– craft client positioning/ messaging, press releases, pitches, thought leadership commentary and briefing materials
    • Proactive pitching– secure thought leadership opportunities across media, podcasts, and events. 
    • Industry events — help curate strategic event presence and work 1x1 with client reps to secure, conceptualize, and optimize speaking opportunities at leading industry events 
    • Stakeholder management– coordinate all relevant internal and external parties, anticipating needs and timelines for successful execution   
    • Comms infrastructure– support in all public relations activities, managing media inquiries and founder requests
    • Reporting– monitor, analyze and communicate PR results, creating post-report campaigns with actionable insights.
    • Market analysis– maintain a keen understanding of industry trends and make appropriate recommendations on how to insert clients into trending conversations.
    • Crisis communications: advise on strategic comms to help clients navigate sensitive situations
    • Work as part of Serotonin PR team to bring new opportunities to our shared portfolio of clients

Requirements

    • 4-6 years of experience working in comms/ PR roles at an agency or in-house, with a background in crypto, web3, or open-source systems.  
    • Understanding of web3 and the prominent ecosystems, technical primitives, culture of open source/ decentralized systems, and the use cases that define the industry landscape 
    • Experience and familiarity with web3 culture and practices
    • Successful track record of leading initiatives across brand comms, news campaigns, and thought leadership — ie. crafting brand assets, executing all media outreach and coordination, stakeholder management, and securing earned speaking engagements
    • Strong media relationships in web3, tech, and adjacent media verticals
    • Sharp writing and editing skills
    • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate multiple projects
    • Proven ability to collaborate and communicate with clients and teammates  
    • Events experience highly preferred
