Are you strong in data science and python? Are you a whiz at analyzing large amounts of financial data? Ava Labs' Finance team is looking to hire its first Data Scientist to be an integral part of evaluating the company's financial performance. This person will be responsible for data management, reconciliations, as well as the extraction and consolidation of a vast number of records inclusive of crypto and fiat.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Collaborate with Finance department to understand their data needs and proactively develop solutions to meet those needs
  • Collect and analyze large amounts of financial data to identify trends and patterns that can be used to improve business processes
  • Clean, structure and create data infrastructure for internal use
  • Contribute to the development of our company's data strategy, including identifying new data sources and developing processes for data management and analysis
  • Use data visualization tools to create dashboards and reports that communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the field of finance and data analysis

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of industry experience in a data scientist role
  • 1+ years in a start-up environment preferred
  • Proficiency in SQL - able to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets
  • Experience in programming, especially with data science and visualization libraries in Python or other object oriented languages
  • Track record of success producing high quality data pipelines and analysis that lead to actionable insights
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key people or organizations
  • The ability to lead through influence, not authority
  • Passion for crypto/web3 and eagerness to consume latest news and developments
  • Thorough attention to detail and high organizational skills
  • Comfortable working with low oversight, being proactive and anticipating future needs

Base Salary Range: $122,000 - $167,900
