Design Engineer Frontend

Solomon Labs
$44k - $100k

This job is closed

Solomon Labs is building the dollar infrastructure layer for Solana. We design and operate USDv, a fully backed, Solana-native stablecoin that streams yield onchain.

Our mission is to turn on-chain dollars into a public utility: productive, composable infrastructure that wallets, protocols, and treasuries can plug into, and that everyday people can access as easily as holding a dollar.

Over the next decade, a meaningful chunk of the world’s cashflows is going to live onchain. Our frontend is where users experience that world: turning complex rails, yield mechanics, and onchain activity into clear interfaces, predictable interactions, and experiences that feel precise and trustworthy.

This role is for a Design Engineer who builds production-grade frontend systems and brings strong judgment around motion, layout, and interaction. Your job is to make the complex financial flows feel premium, precise and trustworthy.

You will work directly with founders, ship core product features end-to-end, and see your work sit on the critical path for the UX/UI.

Responsibilities

  • Translate Figma designs into high-fidelity, production-ready React components
  • Improve layout, spacing, hierarchy, and affordances across the app to enhance UX
  • Contribute to general frontend feature development and bug fixing alongside motion and polish work
  • Implement state-driven UI motion using Framer Motion across core product surfaces:
    • Using motion to clearly communicate state changes (eg. loading, success, error, confirmation)
    • Polishing critical flows (eg. buy, stake) to feel predictable and reassuring
    • Extending and refining our component system with consistent motion patterns
    • Ensuring animations are performant, accessible, and restrained
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering

Tech Stack

  • TypeScript (primary)
  • React
  • State: Zustand and React Query
  • UI/Styling: Tailwind CSS and Material-UI (theming, design tokens, dark mode)
  • Solana wallet adapters & TS tooling
  • REST APIs (Fastify-backed)
  • Modern frontend tooling (Vite, code-splitting, tree-shaking)
  • Charts: Recharts, ApexCharts
  • Crypto/Solana: solana/web3.js, anchor, Jupiter wallet adapter + in-house custom built tools

Requirements

  • Strong React + TypeScript skills
  • Proven experience using Framer Motion in production apps
  • Excellent visual judgment and attention to detail
  • Comfort working from Figma and collaborating with design and product
  • Strong sense of restraint: you know when motion helps and when it hurts
  • Performance and accessibility aware
  • High agency and able to work independently in an async, founder-led team
  • Comfortable owning standard frontend work (data wiring, async state, charts, edge cases) in addition to motion and UI polish
  • Familiarity with crypto, Solana preferred.
  • Include personal GitHub in resume or application (visual portfolios without code are not sufficient)

Compensation & Benefits

  • $45k-$120k salary, (experience-dependent)
  • Token equity upside
  • Paid in USDC
  • Fully remote
  • Work directly with founders on core protocol surfaces

What does a web3 designer do?

A web3 designer is responsible for creating user-friendly and visually appealing designs for websites that are built on the web3 platform

This platform is based on blockchain technology and allows for the creation of decentralized applications (dApps) that can be accessed through a web browser

A web3 designer would be responsible for creating the user interface and user experience for these dApps, ensuring that they are easy to use and navigate

They would also be responsible for ensuring that the overall design of the dApps is consistent with the brand and aesthetic of the organization or individual that is building the dApps.
