What we are Doing:
We are building derivative infrastructure to enable Ethereum to transform into the Internet Bond via delta-neutral derivatives positions, to create the first crypto-native, rewards bearing savings asset: sUSDe.
We believe creating a synthetic dollar which is not reliant on existing banking infrastructure is the single most important problem to solve and largest opportunity in crypto today.
USDe will form the first part of a broader ecosystem of products we are building including fixed and floating rate internet bonds and composable repo leveraged markets.

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in building and optimizing our infrastructure. You'll work with a high-impact team, creating the foundations for a scalable, resilient, and secure platform in the ever-evolving world of DeFi.
The Role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Ethena Labs, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing our infrastructure to ensure security, performance, and scalability. You will lead initiatives to streamline and automate processes, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and build infrastructure that supports the long-term growth of the company.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our infrastructure is both cutting-edge and reliable, while also helping guide the DevOps team’s growth and development. Your work will directly contribute to the success of Ethena Labs by ensuring that our decentralized platform remains robust and secure as we continue to innovate in the world of crypto finance.
What You’ll Do
- Lead infrastructure initiatives: Design and implement modern cloud-based infrastructure, leveraging containerization technologies like ECS/EKS to ensure scalability, resilience, and efficiency.
- Ensure system reliability and availability: Build and manage highly available systems, with a focus on fault tolerance and uptime for critical components of our decentralized finance platform.
- Integrate security best practices: Implement security-focused practices (DevSecOps) across infrastructure and workflows, ensuring robust protection for our platform and seamless integration of encryption, secrets management, and secure access.
- Automate and streamline processes: Drive automation efforts using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform to build and maintain scalable infrastructure, reducing operational overhead and improving reproducibility.
- Mentor and collaborate: Provide leadership and mentorship to the DevOps team, fostering a collaborative environment and supporting the growth of team members.
- Optimize CI/CD pipelines: Design and manage continuous integration and deployment processes, ensuring efficient, automated, and secure deployment workflows.
- Enhance monitoring and telemetry: Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and telemetry systems using tools like Grafana and InfluxDB to provide visibility into system health and performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with engineering, security, and product teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure solutions that support business goals.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or related engineering roles.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.), including expertise in ECS/EKS, networking, load balancers, and other key cloud technologies.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise with tools like Terraform to build scalable, reproducible infrastructure.
- Proven track record of integrating DevSecOps best practices and managing cloud security (e.g., secrets management, KMS, data encryption).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and test automation across development and deployment cycles.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring and telemetry systems (Grafana, InfluxDB, Prometheus) and experience ensuring high availability for production environments.
- Ability to work with and modernize legacy infrastructure while minimizing friction in team culture and workflows.
- Experience mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Bonus: Experience with Nitro enclaves, HSM (Hardware Security Modules), and trading systems infrastructure is a plus.
