The Role
Provable is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to scale our end-to-end stress-testing and benchmarking frameworks for the Aleo blockchain. Youâll partner with our protocol engineers to spin up adversarial testnets and codify attack-vector scenarios - from high-volume transaction storms to malicious clients and network partitions. Your work will ensure the Aleo blockchain remains secure, performant, and cost-efficient at the highest possible uptime. Youâll also provide some form of on-call support - in close agreement - swiftly resolving incidents and feeding lessons learned back into our test automation. Ideally, you are crypto-native, comfortable with distributed-systems testing, and passionate about building bulletproof infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Stress-test development: Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end adversarial tests for snarkOS networks using Terraform and Ansible. Most of our software is written in Rust, and youâll be able to get your hands dirty making it more reliable and performant.
Cloud Infrastructure Management: Oversee the provisioning, operation, and management of AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure.
Monitoring and Optimization: Deploy and tune Prometheus/Grafana and ELK stacks. Continuously identify performance bottlenecks and opportunities to reduce cloud spend.
Automation: Develop, maintain, and improve automation systems for test runs.
On-Call Support: Respond rapidly to incidents, troubleshoot test infrastructure failures, and restore service while minimizing downtime.
Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of new features and technologies. Recommend and implement improvements to infrastructure and processes.
Collaboration: Work closely with other teams and colleagues, including protocol engineers and devops engineers, to ensure cohesiveness and reliability of services.
What Weâre Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
A foundation in blockchain concepts and, ideally, experience contributing to or working on a blockchain project.
Experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
Experience in Ansible, Terraform, Python, Bash, Git, and GitHub workflows.
Experience in handling on-call responsibilities.
Experience with setting up and managing monitoring solutions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure.
Ability to communicate complex technical ideas across teams.
Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
What does a DevOps in web3 do?
DevOps in web3 typically refers to the practice of using DevOps techniques to develop and manage decentralized applications (dApps) on blockchain platforms
This can involve tasks such as setting up and maintaining the infrastructure for a dApp, automating the deployment of dApps, and monitoring the performance and security of dApps
In general, DevOps in web3 aims to improve the collaboration and communication between development and operations teams, and to make it easier to build, test, and deploy dApps on the decentralized web.
