We are currently looking for a VP of Engineering - Special Projects to lead, strategize and execute on the company's engineering and product development plans. You will be part of a world-class team that will re-define the ways value is tokenised and transferred across the globe leveraging distributed ledger technology.

What you'll be doing:

• Build the new standard for transferring value. You will own large parts of the backend infrastructure that will become the new standard for effecting value transfer, cross-border settlements and on/off-chain settlements, including SDKs and APIs for partners in our ecosystem.

• Launch a Proprietary Protocol. Work with the Head of Engineering to design the on-chain protocol that powers our products and downstream use cases of it. Our backend infrastructure is built on top of this protocol and you will be heavily involved in design discussions.

• Architect the modern decentralized lightweight bank. Design and build scalable, distributed backend systems that will power the financial ecosystem that utilizes the company’s products and services, including systems for withdrawal and deposit, transfers, auditing, and payments.

What we're looking for:

You're an engineering leader who has led and managed high-performance teams, and have senior or staff-level IC experience in building out complex, performant, scalable backend infrastructure.

• Strong coding skills (Elixir, Go, C/C++, etc).

• Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in technical leadership roles that involve people management and strategy.

• Experience managing cross-functional teams or projects at early stage startups, owning the delivery of key R&D initiatives, and influencing management and stakeholders.

• Experience building technologies in the blockchain/crypto space.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a successful track record of delivering complex projects from concept to launch.

• Has experience building engineering teams that have adopted Elixir (including hiring Elixir developers).

• Professional experience and capability with scaled high-rate platform services, workflow orchestration systems and API design.

• Experience working fluently with standard orchestration & deployment technologies like Kubernetes, Temporal, Terraform, Docker, etc in multiple clouds

• BS or MS in computer science, engineering, or other technical degree
