About the Opportunity:
This role is part of the DCG Investments Team and will be based in Stamford, CT. The Research Engineer will be a key contributor to the DCG Expeditions team, a global early stage investor that invests in the top fintech and crypto founders building the next generation of financial services.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Industry Research: Stay at the cutting edge of the latest developments, trends, and emerging technologies in artificial intelligence and blockchain ecosystems, providing insights and recommendations to inform investment strategies.
- Technical Due Diligence: Lead comprehensive technical assessments of potential investment opportunities in artificial intelligence and blockchain, evaluating factors such as technology differentiation, scalability, and market potential.
- Thought Leadership: Contribute to thought leadership initiatives by publishing research papers, presenting findings at conferences, and participating in industry events, establishing DCG as a leading authority in AI venture investment.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred
- Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, the modern data stack and decentralized systems
- Proven experience in artificial intelligence and/or blockchain research, development or engineering roles
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Solidity, with experience developing and deploying AI and blockchain applications
- Demonstrated track record of innovation and thought leadership in artificial intelligence, blockchain, or related fields, evidenced by publications, patents, or open-source contributions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technical information and communicate findings effectively to non technical stakeholders
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
