Company Overview

BlockApps helps businesses harness the power of Web3 Commerce to deliver greater transparency and trust to B2B transactions — unlocking the value of real-world assets and deepening customer understanding of products to make better buying decisions. Job Description

If you are passionate about the blockchain space and are currently looking to strengthen your skillset in this area, we would love to hear from you.

BlockApps STRATO is an advanced peer-to-peer blockchain platform, based on the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance standards. STRATO includes a complete suite of APIs, as well as data analysis and monitoring tools, which developers can use to build blockchain applications and networks. Our core product is written in Haskell. In addition, we use Solidity, Node.js, React, and SQL to develop customer-centric blockchain solutions.

We currently have openings for professional developers with an interest in customer satisfaction.

Strong functional programming skills are a plus, as our platform is largely written in Haskell. However, a mastery of classical computing languages and tools, such as C/C++ and SQL, is equally important, and we can teach you Haskell and blockchain technologies on the job.

Roles & Responsibilities

● Design and implement features for our STRATO blockchain platform

● Collaborate with the team to architect the STRATO blockchain platform

● Research existing libraries and tools for use within the STRATO blockchain platform

● Perform domain research to both better understand the blockchain technology space, as well as the details of customers’ industries

● Work with customers to design and build blockchain applications, and integrate them with the STRATO blockchain platform

Required Skills

● Proficiency in a statically-typed programming language, such as Haskell, C/C++, Java, Scala, C#, F#, or Go

● SQL, particularly PostgreSQL

● Source code management tools, such as Git

● Degree in computer science or related field, experience in software engineering or equivalent work experience

● Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills

Nice-to-Have Skills

● Functional programming, particularly Haskell

● Designing and implementing RESTful APIs, and their best practices

● Node.js

● Frontend JavaScript frameworks, particularly React

● Kafka

● Cloud computing services, particularly AWS and Google Cloud

● Containerization technologies, particularly Docker

● Blockchain fundamental concepts

What does a Java developer in web3 do?

A Java developer in web3 would likely be focused on developing applications that use the Java programming language in the context of the web3 technology stack

Web3 is a collective term used to refer to the next generation of decentralized, blockchain-based technologies that are aimed at creating a more open and secure internet

In this context, a Java developer would be responsible for writing code that interacts with web3 technologies, such as decentralized applications (DApps) and smart contracts, to create new tools and services that run on the blockchain

This could involve working with cutting-edge technologies such as Ethereum, which is a popular blockchain platform that uses the Java programming language, as well as other web3 technologies and frameworks.
