Ethereum Name Service (ENS) is a decentralized, permissionless naming system built on the Ethereum blockchain that enables human-readable names (like "myname.eth") to be linked to standard Ethereum addresses and other distributed systems.

As one of the first protocols built on Ethereum, ENS has enabled over 3 million registered .eth names, and over another 20 million ENS names from teams such as Coinbase, Uniswap, and Linea, as well as integrations with hundreds of other apps, wallets, protocols, and browsers in the crypto ecosystem.

ENS Labs has been driving the core development of the ENS protocol since 2018. We created the ENS app, open-source libraries, and core smart contracts. We are on a mission to make crypto-powered experiences as easy and accessible as browsing the web. Join us as we build the next iteration of our protocol, ENSv2, and pioneer a more decentralized, flexible, and scalable ENS for the future.

About the Role

ENS is searching for a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to champion our infrastructure by architecting and maintaining the robust systems that power digital identity on the blockchain.

In this pivotal role, you'll be the cornerstone of our technical operations and infrastructure reliability. You will empower our platform's scalability, security, and performance while supporting the systems that enable sovereign ownership of digital identity. You'll work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, automation, and blockchain technology. For this role, you'll manage multiple mission-critical systems across our infrastructure. We trust our team members to drive technical excellence, and leadership will work directly with you to manage priorities.

If you're inspired to shape the new internet through robust, scalable infrastructure, then we highly encourage you to apply!

What You'll Do

  • Infrastructure Management: Own the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud-based infrastructure, including:

    • Cloud platform deployments (AWS, GCP)

    • Kubernetes cluster management

    • Container orchestration

    • Network architecture and security

    • Performance optimization and scaling

  • Automation & CI/CD: Champion development efficiency through robust automation, including:

    • Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines

    • Creating and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

    • Automating deployment processes and testing environments

    • Managing release processes and versioning

    • Implementing security best practices

  • Monitoring & Reliability: Ensure platform reliability through comprehensive monitoring and incident response:

    • Implement and maintain monitoring solutions (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus)

    • Design and manage alerting systems

    • Conduct performance analysis and optimization

    • Lead incident response and post-mortems

    • Maintain system uptime and reliability metrics

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to:

    • Support development teams with infrastructure needs

    • Collaborate on security initiatives and compliance requirements

    • Maintain infrastructure documentation and runbooks

    • Participate in architecture discussions and technical planning

    • Drive best practices for infrastructure management and DevOps culture

Who You Are

  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in DevOps engineering, with expert knowledge in Kubernetes and containerization technologies

  • Demonstrated expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible)

  • Strong background in monitoring systems (Grafana, Prometheus) and alerting frameworks

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language and experience building robust CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience with container orchestration and microservices architecture

  • Understanding of blockchain technology and distributed systems is highly valued

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment

  • Experience with security best practices and compliance requirements

This is a full-time, fully remote position with a preference for candidates who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, independent environment. Compensation is competitive based on experience and industry standards, including both cash and equity components.

ENS Labs is an equal-opportunity employer and embraces diversity. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment.
