About Polygon Labs
Polygon Labs is a software development company building and developing a network of aggregated blockchains via the Agglayer, secured by Ethereum. As public infrastructure, the Agglayer will bring together user bases and liquidity for any connected chain, and leverage Ethereum as a settlement layer. Polygon Labs has also contributed to the core development of several widely-adopted scaling protocols and tools for launching blockchains, including Agglayer CDK, Polygon PoS & Katana.
Your Role
As a Full Stack Engineer at Katana, you won’t just write code — you’ll shape the future of decentralized finance. We're looking for a seasoned builder with both frontend finesse and backend backbone to help bring our Core and Composable Apps to life. From sleek UIs to seamless blockchain integrations, you'll craft intuitive experiences that empower users to explore the DeFi frontier — without the friction.
If you're a DeFi-native with a hunger for impact, and thrive in the breakneck rhythm of web3 innovation, this is your arena.
Your Responsibilities
Build the Future of DeFi: Architect, develop, and maintain powerful web applications integrated with Katana’s cutting-edge Layer 2 blockchain infrastructure.
Design with Empathy: Create beautiful, responsive interfaces that simplify complex DeFi concepts for real-world users.
Engineer the Backbone: Develop robust backend systems and APIs that interact with smart contracts, manage blockchain data, and scale to meet user demand.
Collaborate Across the Stack: Partner closely with protocol and smart contract engineers to bring DeFi primitives (AMMs, lending, farming, and more) to the frontend in seamless, elegant ways.
Tame the Blockchain Firehose: Optimize data pipelines and application performance to handle high-throughput activity and real-time blockchain data.
Secure the Edge: Implement wallet connections, authentication flows, and security best practices that users can trust.
Stay on the Edge: Keep tabs on the latest developments in DeFi, Layer 2 scaling, and the ever-evolving web3 landscape — and bring those insights back to the product.
What You'll Need
Full-Stack Fluency: 6–8+ years of experience building full-stack web applications — from polished frontends to production-grade backends.
Web3 Warrior: 4+ years hands-on with blockchain protocols, smart contracts, or web3 dev tools.
Frontend Firepower: Deep expertise with modern JS frameworks like React, Next.js, or Vue.js.
Backend Mastery: Comfortable with Node.js, REST APIs, microservices, and containerized stacks (Docker, Kubernetes).
Database Dexterity: You speak fluent SQL (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Firestore).
Smart Contract Savvy: Able to read Solidity, integrate EVM-based contracts, and understand core blockchain concepts.
Team-First Mentality: Proven success in agile teams, with a passion for shipping fast and making data-driven decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on knowledge of intent-based bridging, solver networks, and advanced bridging layers.
Deep familiarity with liquidity protocols, yield optimization strategies, and the nuances of great DeFi UX.
Performance-tuning wizardry and a security-first mindset.
Clear communicator with a love for collaboration.
