In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping the future of our broker partner dashboard and internal operations tools. You'll tackle exciting challenges, collaborate with talented colleagues, and improve the design quality of our products. What you'll do:

Own the design process: Lead the end-to-end design for complex web and mobile applications, from user research and discovery to pixel-perfect execution. Champion user needs: Deeply understand our diverse user base (global broker partners, internal users) and advocate for their needs throughout the product development lifecycle. Shape our design system: Support efforts create and maintain a cohesive design system that scales across Alpaca’s product ecosystem.  Collaborate effectively: Work closely with product managers, engineers, partner success teams, internal operations teams, and fellow designers to bring innovative solutions to life. Execute proactively: Balance multiple projects and feature launches while consistently raising design quality.

Who you are:

Experienced: You have 7+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of launching complex operations management tools in a fast-paced environment.  User-centric: You're passionate about understanding user needs through user research and translating them into intuitive and engaging experiences. Collaborative & Communicative: You thrive in a collaborative, remote environment and excel at communicating design decisions effectively. Systems Level Thinking: You have experience designing intuitive operational tools and designing meaningful metrics and analytics that empower users to make informed decisions. Strong Analytical Skills: Evaluate processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend data-driven solutions. Technical proficiency: You have a solid understanding of working with APIs, how designs are implemented by engineering, and make use of tools to streamline development handoff. 

Bonus points:

Experience working in a startup environment for operational tooling products. Industry experience in B2B fintech, medical/pharma, logistics, manufacturing, aerospace/automative.

This involves understanding the unique technical and functional requirements of web3 products, as well as the principles of decentralization, transparency, and user ownership

Web3 product designers need to be familiar with blockchain technology, smart contract programming languages, and decentralized networks, in order to design products that can operate effectively in a decentralized environment

They need to be able to work with developers and other stakeholders to ensure that the product is designed in a way that maximizes user control and ownership, while minimizing the potential for fraud or malicious activity

Web3 product designers may work on a range of products, such as decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, non-fungible token (NFT) marketplaces, decentralized social networks, and more
