We're looking for a passionate and talented designer, with experience or a strong interest in UX research, who’s eager to dig for answers, uncover the "why," and advocate for our users at every step.  Please note this is a Brisbane based role and we have hybrid working.

How we work

    • We are organisedin product squads, each consisting of a product manager, designer, tech lead, and 3 to 6 engineers.
    • Squads are responsible for domains such as deposits, trading, and customer onboarding. They set the roadmap for delivering major new features and products, optimising existing ones, and addressing tech and design debt.
    • Your Squad: You’ll be part of the Onboarding & Growth squad, working to elevate the customer journey from initial touchpoint to successful onboarding. This squad aims to improve conversion metrics, verification workflows, and overall user engagement.

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:

    • Craft simple, innovative, and delightful solutions to complex scenarios, informed by insights from user research and usability testing.
    • Conduct and analyse user research to identify pain points, validate design decisions, and improve the user experience.
    • Turn conceptual thinking into tangible product design solutions, leveraging research data to drive design decisions and maintain high-quality design standards.
    • Collaborate with fellow designers and cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and quality across the product, advocating for user needs throughout the product development lifecycle.
    • Effectively document designs and specifications, making solutions easy to follow and understand.

About you:

    • You are a problem solver that’s excited by a challenge. You enjoy sitting in a room and whiteboarding ideas to confidently come up with simple, elegant solutions that everyone can move forward with.
    • A Figma fiend who can design, prototype, test and deliver beautiful solutions.
    • You have experience in UX research and user interviews, or a strong interest in developing these skills. You're driven by curiosity and a desire to understand user needs, using those insights to create impactful designs.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to understand and explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • You are a designer that is constantly inspired—motivating those around you through your passion and drive for what you do.
    • You thrive in a fast paced and collaborative workplace; partnering with other designers, engineers, product managers and other disciplines throughout the company.

Some of our perks and benefits include:

What does a product designer do?

A product designer is responsible for creating and designing the physical and visual aspects of a product, with the aim of enhancing its functionality, usability, and aesthetics

This involves a broad range of tasks, such as researching and analyzing customer needs, designing user interfaces, creating sketches and prototypes, testing and refining designs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the final product meets the intended user needs and business goals

A product designer must have a deep understanding of design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and technological advancements in order to create products that are both innovative and functional

They must also have excellent communication skills, as they work closely with engineers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that the product is developed on time, within budget, and meets the desired quality standards

Product designers work in a variety of industries, such as consumer electronics, furniture, automotive, fashion, and healthcare, to name a few

They may work for large corporations, small businesses, or as freelance designers, and often collaborate with other designers, engineers, and manufacturers to bring their designs to life

In web3, a product designer is responsible for designing and creating decentralized applications (dApps) and other products that leverage blockchain technology, smart contracts, and decentralized networks

This involves understanding the unique technical and functional requirements of web3 products, as well as the principles of decentralization, transparency, and user ownership

They need to be able to work with developers and other stakeholders to ensure that the product is designed in a way that maximizes user control and ownership, while minimizing the potential for fraud or malicious activity

Web3 product designers may work on a range of products, such as decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, non-fungible token (NFT) marketplaces, decentralized social networks, and more

They may also work closely with blockchain developers, economists, and other specialists to create products that are both innovative and practical, while maintaining a strong focus on user experience.
