Who You Are:

You have a burning passion for the crypto industry, and you consider yourself a crypto native who deeply understands the challenges and perspectives of protocols. You believe decentralized protocols are the future of human coordination and want to play a key role in helping them reach their full potential. You are a regular around governance forums and intuitively understand how to engage with protocols authentically.

You are quantitatively-minded with a keen interest in helping protocols sustainably grow. You get excited about working cross-functionally with other members of the Research Services and Analytics teams to deliver on protocol service engagements. You collaborate and share learning by default, and you're always going out of your way to ensure you share relevant protocol initiatives with your team. Your analytical mindset, coupled with your ability to translate intricate mathematical concepts into practical solutions, makes you an ideal candidate for navigating this dynamic landscape. You also enjoy communicating with our audience via Twitter, podcasts, and other mediums about the exciting work our team is doing.

What You’ll Do:

As our Quantitative Protocol Services Analyst, you will help represent Blockworks Research while creating and maintaining deep relationships with major stakeholders of the protocol. You will leverage your deep understanding of the crypto space to generate insightful discussions in the DAO that ultimately help inform the strategic direction of the protocol.

Every day will look a little different, but in general, you will do things like:

  • Mechanism Design & Parameter Optimization Analysis: You’ll perform novel statistical analyses and offer actionable insights that ensure the sustainable growth of our protocol clients based on specific objective functions.

  • Create Risk Assessment & Monitoring Frameworks: You’ll develop simulation frameworks and monitoring tools to ensure the well-being of our protocol clients in any market environment.

  • Support Protocol Service Engagements: You'll use your knowledge and experience to assist in designing and executing major protocol service engagements while ensuring an extraordinary client experience.

  • Author Applied Research: You'll partner with other members of the Research team to conduct deep and actionable research that provides unique insights and work to share and publicize the reports accordingly.

  • Collaborate with Internal and External Stakeholders: You’ll work cross-functionally with Blockworks Research’s internal teams, as well as with external stakeholders, to derive informed, data-driven decisions on proposed protocol initiatives.

  • Continuously Learn and Share Knowledge: You’ll proactively keep up-to-date with evolving themes, protocols, and technologies in the industry and share your learning with the broader Research and Blockworks teams.

Experimentation is frequent at Blockworks. Comfortability with being uncomfortable is a must.

What You’ve Done Before:

You have demonstrated experience in modeling or analyzing several aspects of the economic design of crypto protocols. You have a quantitative background and strong proficiency in Python and/or R. You have strong problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and thrive in environments where you operate autonomously. You can clearly and concisely articulate your ideas both verbally and through writing and are an expert at communicating complex ideas simply.

It’d Be Great If You’ve Done This:

You have previous experience working in the crypto industry executing protocol service engagements and understand the DAO service provider landscape. You have a Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Physics, or similar fields. Lastly, if you have experience in a traditional consulting/advisory role where you provided quantitative services to clients, it may set you apart from other candidates.
