What we do
RISC Zero is on a mission to fix the internet. We're a diverse group of hackers, futurists, and nerds dedicated to making the internet the place we all deserve. We've already built the world's first zero knowledge virtual machine capable of running arbitrary code as a zero knowledge proof. We're now building an ecosystem on top of it.
We have a transparent pay structure with above market salaries and premium benefits. We've all been part of many startups before, so we care a lot about making sure everyone is treated fairly - when it comes to equity, founders have no meaningful advantage over the rest of the employees. You'll have tremendous ability to take part in changing the world, and we believe that deserves meaningful ownership.
What you'll do
You'll lead the effort to keep RISC Zero's ecosystem tightly integrated with Ethereum. You will build and maintain solidity smart contracts to ensure RISC Zero proofs are understood and efficient on Ethereum. You'll also use Rust to build companion smart contracts on our chain.
Who you are
You’re an expert in smart contracts, but you know solidity like the back of your hand. You know how to build complex multiparty applications and ruthlessly optimize performance. You've written meaningful code using zero knowledge proofs. You have strong opinions and know how to effectively communicate them to a diverse team.
More specifically, you’ve probably done most of the following:
- Built countless smart contracts on Ethereum
- Built software for working with Zero Knowledge Proofs
- Understand statically typed languages like C++ or Rust
That said, we're looking for people who love this problem and are dedicated to making it work. If you don't perfectly match the description but you're still interested - apply anyways. We're always ready to bring on great people, even if we weren't expecting it.
What does a solidity developer do?
A Solidity developer is a programmer who specializes in writing smart contracts using the Solidity programming language
Solidity is a contract-oriented, high-level language for implementing smart contracts on various blockchain platforms, such as Ethereum
The responsibilities of a Solidity developer can vary depending on the specific project they are working on, but some common tasks they might be responsible for include:
- Writing and testing Solidity code for smart contracts, Debugging and troubleshooting issues with existing smart contracts
- Collaborating with other members of the development team to ensure that the contracts are implemented according to the project's specifications
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in the Solidity and blockchain communities, and incorporating new best practices and techniques into their work
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to the development of coding standards and guidelines for the project.
