Position Overview:

SIMBA Chain is looking for a Software Python engineer/senior python engineer who is passionate about code and development best practices. A motivated self-starter you should have a minimum of 2 years commercial experience (5 years for seniors) working in teams on a shared codebase with version control, multiple releases in an agile, DevOps, CI/CD environment. At least the last year (2 years for seniors) should have been spent primarily coding in Python although we will take other language experience into account.

SIMBAs engineering practice and team is spread across the globe, with remote work as a standard

flexible working hours are also standard practice to accommodate teams in different time zones. Occasional travel for engineering meet ups and team building purposes would be desirable.

A strong predictor for successwill be evident in a candidate withexperience working in teams on a shared codebase with multiple releases in an agile, DevOps, CI/CD environment. This individual collaborates well with other team members and stakeholders on all parts of the stack, enthusiastic about blockchain technology now and beyond the existing landscape.

What you’ll be doing at SIMBA:

  • Working with the engineering team on the core SIMBA Enterprise Platform
  • Taking a lead in managing the shared code base, managing branching, merge requests, code reviews
  • Mentoring staff with less experience of working in shared code repositories
  • Working with engineering leads to define and implement engineering best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience with Python: Python 3. *, Django or FastAPI, Poetry
  • 3 – 5 years of experience with Git and/or Gitlab CI/CD GitFlow, Azure, Kubernetes/Docker
  • Experience with: PostgreSQL
  • Experience with Agile Methodology, Unit Testing, Scrum
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced working environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Blockchain applications and smart contract APIs and languages such as Solidity
  • Experience with Redis
  • Experience with OAuth, IDAM
  • Experience with DevOps: AWS, GCP
  • Experience with Database: Neo4j
  • Experience with Confluence/Jira
  • Passion and enthusiasm for blockchain technologies
