Mirror is hiring an engineer to construct and maintain backend infrastructure for APIs. This candidate will collaborate with the team on deployment operations, telemetry, and data pipelines to support our growing suite of products. Examples of projects include improving our blockchain data pipelines — so that we have access to accurate Ethereum data in real time — and improving our infrastructure optics so that our products always experience uptime.
Eventually, Mirror wants to further decentralize our API services, which will be an exciting project to build something new in the world of community-owned, decentralized (rather than merely distributed) backend architecture. Mirror also plans to support robust APIs for external developers to build on top of the Mirror protocol and ecosystem to empower crypto-native creators and communities.
Responsibilities
- API maintenance and implementation
- Maintaining and optimizing system performance
- Data Engineering
- DevOps Infrastructure (AWS, RDS)
- Building towards decentralization
Requirements
- Experience supporting infrastructure for a production system at scale
Nice to have
- Interested in learning about Web3, or experience building in Web3
- Understanding of Ethereum, Arweave, IPFS architectures
Mirror's Benefits
We aspire to build products that are beautiful and intuitive, without compromising on user-sovereignty or decentralization. Our mission is to bring crypto mainstream by onboarding the next million creators to launch DAOs, start communities, and mint tokens + NFTs. Here are some of our benefits:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Remote-first teamwork with team and community members around the world
- Work-from-home/remote office stipend
- Team offsites for periodic collaborative strategy sessions in person
- Passionate, supportive team dedicated to learning and growing together in web3
What does a back-end developer in Web3 do?
A back-end developer in web3 typically works on the server-side of a web application, using technologies that are specific to the decentralized web (also known as Web3-related)
This might involve building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports decentralized applications (dApps), or developing the underlying smart contracts and blockchain-based systems that power those dApps
In general, the goal of a back-end developer in web3 is to create the technologies and tools that enable users to interact with the decentralized web in a secure and seamless way.
