We’re looking for a mission-oriented Front End Developer to join our remote-first team here at Trust Machines. This role is essential in building a premier user experience for the Bitcoin ecosystem, fostering an engaged user base, and broadening the our product's capabilities within the Bitcoin realm.

The ideal candidate has experience building user-friendly applications in a startup environment. As a core engineer for this product, you’ll be responsible for implementing high-quality features across a handful of web platforms.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build beautiful user interfaces across our exciting product portfolio.
  • Write well-tested, reliable code for use by millions of users
  • Work as an integral member of a cross-functional team focused on improving customer journeys and creating high-impact features for our products while championing mature engineering practices.
  • Work closely with engineering peers to align on the architectural direction and consistent use of design patterns while considering how code can be shared cross-product.
  • Collaborate with the design team, considering multiple ways to solve problems, weighing up implementation complexity, user experience, and product impact.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 4+ years in a similar role(s) for consumer software with 2 years at a startup
  • Penchant for elegant and simple solutions for complex requirements
  • Experience with security engineering: protecting against XSS and other common attack vectors, securing private keys, content security policies
  • Preference for remote, OSS work in direct contact with the product’s user base via Discord and other public channels.
  • Experience with Typescript, frontend frameworks (ideally React), CI/CD tooling, WalletConnect.
  • Demonstrable experience in modern web development: JavaScript APIs and tooling, state management, accessibility, performance, and security.
  • Familiarity with UI design best practices.
  • A high degree of user empathy, inclination to question assumptions, independent self-organizer, openness to feedback, and comfort with technical complexity.

We’d Also Like to See:

  • Excited to work in the crypto industry - Knowledgable about Bitcoin, and its underlying cryptography.
  • Experience working on or contributing to open source projects. Familiarity with source code management solutions like Github.
  • Experience on a distributed team.
  • Ability to collaborate with open-source developers.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with ReactNative and/or Web Extensions.
  • You understand requirements beyond the written word and have a sharp eye.
