Nimbus is a research team that focuses on developing an Ethereum client and library. We believe that the largest deployment of Ethereum will potentially be on embedded systems and Nimbus is designed to perform well on embedded, mobile and generally resource-restricted devices. Building the stack from the ground up, we’re translating the latest Ethereum research into practical, performant and reusable libraries to provide a fertile exploration ground for further R&D.  Check out our latest update!    The role: We're looking for an experienced Ethereum Validator Operations Lead to help us run our staking operations smoothly and efficiently. This role involves working with Ethereum node operations, staking mechanisms, and DeFi analytics to drive growth and profitability.   Responsibilities:

Prepare for upcoming updates:

  • Stay on top of important updates to the Ethereum network, such as the Pectra update.
  • Assess how these updates will affect our operations and make any necessary changes.

Node operations and DeFi:

  • Oversee the technical aspects of our Ethereum node operations to ensure they're running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Use your knowledge of DeFi protocols, particularly Lido, to optimise our staking strategies.

Expand and grow staking operations:

  • Explore opportunities to expand our staking operations beyond Lido, including working with other protocols and institutional partners.
  • Balance growth with the continued support and improvement of our existing Lido operations.

Asset and portfolio management:

  • Strategically manage the assets we've earned from staking operations, looking for ways to grow and diversify them.
  • Analyze the market to inform our portfolio decisions.

Optimize operations and monitoring:

  • Work with our Insights group to set up monitoring tools to track our staking operations' performance and profitability.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve our infrastructure and operations to reduce costs and increase profitability.

Maximize revenue:

  • Find ways to capture private order flows and develop solutions to increase revenue.
  • Identify and capitalise on other opportunities to enhance our revenue streams.

Reduce costs:

  • Lead efforts to minimise operational costs, focusing on efficient resource allocation, hardware, and personnel.   Requirements:
  • Required professional experience in a similar role within the Ethereum/DeFi ecosystem, with a focus on staking operations and growth strategies.
  • Strong understanding of Ethereum, node operations, and staking mechanisms.
  • Proven experience in DevOps practices, infrastructure optimisation, and monitoring solutions.
  • Background in DeFi, particularly with Lido, and the ability to work with other staking protocols.   Hiring Process:

Interview with our People Ops team; Two or three interviews with Nimbus team members & the venture studio, the Institute of Free Technology.

[The steps may change along the way if we see it makes sense to adapt the interview stages, so please consider the above as a guideline. We’re looking for you to join our team as soon as possible].    Bonus Points: - Experience with MEV capture solutions. - Familiarity with institutional staking operations and partnerships. - Knowledge of portfolio management principles and asset diversification strategies in the crypto space.   Compensation:   We are happy to pay in any mix of fiat/crypto.
