About the Team:

The Economics team uses a market design approach to develop practical incentive mechanisms that scale to more than a billion participants of the Worldcoin network. In our team, Economists, Computer Scientists and Statisticians work together to rapidly design, build, and field-test Operator auctions, user incentive programs, fraud mitigation techniques, etc., that work robustly with thousands of Operators and billions of users around the world. Using data from large-scale field experiments, we iterate quickly and often to optimize our designs.

About the Opportunity:

You will be responsible for leading a team of econometricians, statisticians, and data scientists, that analyzes large amounts of data to evaluate the performance of all economic mechanisms that Worldcoin is testing in the field. The scope includes primarily the empirical analysis of auction data, survey data, sign-up rate data, user engagement data, etc. With your work, you will have a large impact, influencing the design and parametrization of the mechanisms Worldcoin will use on a global scale.

  • Lead a team of econometricians, statisticians, and data scientists
  • Coordinate with other members from the Economics team regarding the design, execution and analysis of field experiments
  • Build econometric models for analyzing many different sources of data
  • Derive analytical insights from data to inform the decisions of the Economics team

About You:

The ideal candidate is practically oriented and thrives in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment, with a proven track record of successfully deriving analytical insights from large amounts of field data.

  • PhD in Econometrics, Statistics or related field
  • Broad knowledge of different statistics/econometrics methods
  • 5+ years (after PhD) of experience with empirical data analysis
  • Excellent leadership, personal, and communication skills
  • Experience with the analysis of economic/behavior data
  • High-quality publications in econometrics/statistics a plus
