As a Data Engineer in our team
Data centers at the core of value creation stream in Presto Labs. Our team is looking for data engineer who will develop and improve data collection, transformation, cleaning and monitoring process, which is then used by automated trading systems and strategies.
To generate trading signals, our quantitative trading strategies constantly analyze various financial/non-financial data ranging from low-level market microstructure data to macroeconomic news. The automated trading system accurately executes our trades in a low-latency environment.
As a data engineer in Presto Labs, you will manage various data that help researchers and traders to generate and implement various trading ideas. You will work with the world’s top-class quantitative engineers, researchers, and traders of Presto Labs, and experience a lot of cutting edge technologies.

Responsibilities

    • Design and build data transformations efficiently and reliably
    • Design and implement reliable, scalable, robust, and extensible big data systems that support trading and research
    • Design and implement data cleaning process and monitoring system to pin out anomalies found in data fed from vendors.

What we want you to have

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or other STEM disciplines
    • 2 years or more of experience and proven track records in the software development, data engineering or relevant experience (portfolio of achievement while in Master or Ph.D. program, open-source project, etc., for instance)
    • Understanding of object-oriented programming
    • Proficiency in SQL, C++ and Python including pandas and numpy
    • Experience in Unix/Linux environments
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced team environment
    • Excellent analytical skills
    • Spoken and written English language skill in conversational level

Nice to have

    • Proficiency in Apache Airflow and Kafka
    • Shell scripting
    • Experience in historical time series data
    • Ability to take the initiative and work without detailed guidance or supervision
