About the role
Nodle is seeking a skilled and passionate QA Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing mobile applications and a solid understanding of crypto apps, with a particular focus on DeFi and blockchain technology. As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our mobile and crypto-related products.
Location
This is a fully remote position, for anyone based in Western, Central or Eastern European Time Zone.
Employment type
Applicants should have the ability to work as a contractor, either through their own company or as an individual.
Key responsibilities
In this role you will need to collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to understand project requirements and product goals. You will be responsible for developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts for mobile applications and crypto apps. This will involve conducting manual and automated testing to ensure product quality across various platforms (iOS, Android, web), identifying, reporting, and tracking bugs on Linear to ensure proper resolution and performing functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
You will also be involved in validating blockchain interactions, smart contracts, and transactions on Ethereum and other blockchain networks. This will include reviewing and testing DeFi app features, crypto wallets, and other blockchain-based applications. Critical to this will be providing clear and detailed feedback on the user experience, functionality, and overall quality of the mobile and crypto products and suggesting improvements to development and QA processes to enhance product quality.
Experience in the following activities will help you to succeed in this role:
- Performing smoke testing to ensure the stability and functionality of mobile apps before release to the App Store or Google Play Market.
- Analyzing reported issues, create detailed bug reports in the ticketing system, and provide clear reproduction steps for developers.
- Conducting performance and battery consumption tests to identify optimization opportunities for mobile apps.
- Participating in planning sessions and design reviews to offer insights on usability, testability, and quality considerations.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a QA Engineer, with a strong focus on testing mobile applications.
- Deep understanding of Ethereum, blockchain technology, DeFi applications, and cryptocurrency wallets.
- Proficient in QA methodologies and tools, including bug tracking and test management systems (e.g., Linear, TestRail).
- Skilled in both manual and automated testing, using tools such as Selenium and Appium.
- Strong communication skills, capable of clearly explaining technical issues and collaborating with team members, confident working with distributed, remote teams.
- Able to work independently as a contractor, demonstrating a high level of ownership and accountability.
